As the saying goes—work hard, play hard.

Last Friday afternoon, the Broadway team were swept off to sea… not quite in that sense!

Instead of our usual finish to a Friday, we stepped on board with goto_dxb and enjoyed a stunning sunset out on the water.

Great company, plenty of laughs, a bit of dancing—and even a few famous Titanic poses along the way.

A brilliant way to spend time together as a team.

There’s a clear trend right now — hotels and F&B operators are using these quieter periods to rethink and refurbish existing venues, not just to refresh, but to stay relevant in an increasingly competitive market.

VNTG at is a strong example of this.

We were asked to completely transform the former La Farine into a contemporary wine destination, built around a modern enoteca-style concept and a more open, social “cellar mindset”.

The design centres on creating a more intuitive and approachable experience — with the wine itself becoming part of the architecture through integrated displays, layered materiality, and a reconfigured layout that balances intimate moments with more social interaction.

Warm timber tones, soft lighting, and carefully detailed joinery create depth and atmosphere, while the introduction of a retail and cheese counter adds another layer to the overall experience.

Always rewarding to take a familiar space and reposition it into something entirely new.

Right now, the industry is being tested — and it’s how we respond that really matters.

We’re having to be more agile than ever. When it comes to material specification, we’re actively looking at locally sourced alternatives to help protect programme timelines and reduce uncertainty. It’s not always the easiest route, but it’s often the smartest.

At the same time, we’re revisiting live projects, making considered adjustments where needed to support delivery on site. These aren’t compromises — they’re conscious decisions to ensure projects continue to move forward while still honouring the original design intent.

It’s a fine balance between creativity and practicality, but this is where experience truly comes into play.

We’ve always believed in intelligent design — and it’s in moments like these that this approach becomes even more important.

Challenging times push us to think differently — and ultimately, make us better at what we do.

As most within our industry know, Pantone announces a Colour of the Year, and for 2026 it is Cloud Dancer.

This soft, understated tone creates a calm and refined atmosphere when used thoughtfully. When you visualise the name, you can’t help but imagine clouds gently dancing — a sense of movement and softness that makes Cloud Dancer a natural choice for serene, balanced interiors.

While these projects may not feature Cloud Dancer exactly, the design intent was the same: to create spaces that feel calm, considered and timeless.

Final Countdown – Tomorrow we step up
