Can a workspace create a moment of pause?

Part 03 / DIFC Office

For this lounge zone, we focused on softness, tactility, and emotional comfort🌿

Rounded CB2 lounge chairs and the Pedrali coffee table create a quieter atmosphere within the office, a space designed for short breaks, informal conversations, and mental reset between long hours of focus.

We contrasted dark textured fabrics with reflective stainless steel surfaces to balance warmth with light and movement.

Because a well-designed workspace should support not only productivity, but also the nervous system behind it.

Can a workspace help the brain recover while working?

Part 02 / DIFC Office

For this zone, we designed semi-private focus areas using Pedrali Buddyhub acoustic desks:
spaces that reduce visual and acoustic distractions while still keeping a connection to the team.

The upholstered green partitions create a calmer emotional atmosphere and support deeper concentration during long working hours.

We combined soft textures with reflective stainless steel surfaces, balancing comfort with stimulation and bringing more light and movement into the space.

We paired the Buddyhub desks with Herman Miller Aeron Chairs, while the central workspace features height-adjustable Bralco NUVOLA desks for four people.

Because productivity is not created by pressure.
It’s created by environments that support the human nervous system.

Can your workspace actually change the way your brain works?

Part 01 / DIFC Office

In this project, we didn’t choose materials for aesthetics.
We chose them for how they affect the human brain.

We used warm wood surfaces:
they create a sense of safety and stability.
From a neuropsychological perspective, natural textures reduce cortisol levels and visual stress, allowing the brain to relax and process information faster.

We introduced a deep black ceiling:
it visually “removes” the upper boundary of the space.
This reduces sensory overload and helps the brain focus on what actually matters, improving concentration and decision-making.

We designed glass partitions:
they maintain visual openness while preserving personal boundaries.
This balance supports cognitive comfort: the brain feels both connected and protected at the same time.

We maximized natural light and skyline views:
daylight regulates circadian rhythms, increases alertness and serotonin levels.
Distant views give the brain micro-rest moments, preventing fatigue and improving long-term focus.

Less visual noise. More cognitive clarity. Better decisions.

This is what we mean by design that works on a neurological level.

A child’s room is not just a space it’s a system that shapes the brain 🤎

We design children’s interiors not only through aesthetics, but through how a child perceives, learns and feels inside the space.

Here’s what actually matters (and why):

1. Visual calm = better focus
The brain of a child processes up to 5x more sensory input than an adult.
Too many colors, contrasts, details → cognitive overload.

That’s why we use:
soft, neutral palettes, minimal visual noise, hidden storage

Result: the child concentrates better, sleeps deeper, feels safer.

2. Warm tones = emotional regulation
Beige, sand, muted terracotta tones are not random.

Studies in environmental psychology show:
warm, natural hues reduce cortisol levels and help stabilize mood.

This is especially important before sleep.

3. Built-in furniture = sense of order
Children learn structure not from words, but from environment.

Integrated storage, clear zones, repetition of lines:
→ builds subconscious understanding of order and routine.

4. Tactility develops intelligence
Wood, textiles, matte surfaces not just beautiful.

They activate sensory pathways:
touch → brain → neural connections.

This directly affects cognitive development.

5. Light = circadian rhythm
Soft diffused daylight + warm indirect lighting
→ supports melatonin production
→ improves sleep quality

And sleep = growth, memory, emotional balance.

6. Micro-zones = independence
Reading corner.
Rest zone.
Storage within reach.

When a child can navigate space independently
confidence grows naturally.

So this is not just design. This is how space becomes a tool for development 🌿
