My WEA adult learning class on Patchwork Quilting for Beginners were all so excited this Wednes evening! It was Lesson 3 out of 6 and most of them were up to the actual quilting of their work. This part of their "Quilt Sandwich" is great fun as they can see how their Quilt will turn out! The original 9 random patches have been stitched together then CUT into quarters, rearranged and stitched back together to give them the most amazing designs! You could feel the rising excitement in the room!!! So much so that I forgot to take any photos! Lol. Next Wednes. I'll get photos - before they are finished - to show you what I mean. Love this class & all the participants!

My next "Patchwork for Beginners" starts in just a few weeks - July 1st. This one is also an evening class - day classes will begin about September or so. My previous students have made the most gorgeous quilts at each class! All of them different from each other but every quikt turned out so beautiful!!! Contact WEA website or admin, to get class times/dates & things you need to bring for the first class. Photos on my earlier posts give tou a couple of ideas of what you might make. Positively gorgeous 3D - Three Dimensional Sensory Dinosaur quilt, went home to a special little boy for his 7th birthday today! He LOVES it, as does his Mum & his Gran! It wasn't easy to make, so it warms my heart to know it is bringing so much joy!

Whoohoo! Packing all the kits, samples & assorted fabrics in the car today, ready for Wednes. Evening class on "Applique for Beginners"! Only a few places left to join my Applique for Beginners at the WEA adult learning in Angus St, Adelaide. Wednesday evening class over 4 weeks, starting Next Wednes, 6pm till 8pm so great time if you work in the daytime! Several different styles of Kit, from which to choose, to begin your Applique journey. Slow stitching while you are watching the telly, sports games, waiting for Dr's appointments or waiting in the car for the kiddies! You'll learn the different ways to applique, including an Art form. One or two Applique blocks make a bag, a cushion or wall hanging. A few more blocks (an Applique addiction) & you can make that baby quilt, or even a larger quilt! Applique is restful, calming & gives you a great sense of achievement! No time to wonder... just treat yourself!!! Get in before class numbers (10 only) rule you out!

Great news! My Applique for Beginners is set to start 22nd April at WEA adult learning in Angus St. This is an evening class, suited to those who work days or those who just want to escape the tea-time chaos at home!!! From 6pm for 2 hours of very satisfying FUN, on a Wednesday evening! Choose a design, learn how to make the pattern (if you need) prepare the backing & the iron-on fabrics - then assemble your design. Then learn how to enjoy the slow stitching to bring you hours of calm & restful enjoyment as your design comes to life. Enrol now at WEA website to join us :)

OhMG, I have a lovely Patchwork Quilt that I am working on, that my students are going to love (hopefully, because I do!) That will show them a quilt that doesn't need quilting, it's just the way it gets sewn together! Sorry, no pic 'Cos it's going to be a surprise (well, for everyone except WEA Jessica Gower but she's only seen the rough version thus far! Pics after Monday 😀
