Only a few places left to join my Applique for Beginners at the WEA adult learning in Angus St, Adelaide. Wednesday evening class over 4 weeks, starting Next Wednes, 6pm till 8pm so great time if you work in the daytime! Several different styles of Kit, from which to choose, to begin your Applique journey. Slow stitching while you are watching the telly, sports games, waiting for Dr's appointments or waiting in the car for the kiddies! You'll learn the different ways to applique, including an Art form. One or two Applique blocks make a bag, a cushion or wall hanging. A few more blocks (an Applique addiction) & you can make that baby quilt, or even a larger quilt! Applique is restful, calming & gives you a great sense of achievement! No time to wonder... just treat yourself!!! Get in before class numbers (10 only) rule you out!

Great news! My Applique for Beginners is set to start 22nd April at WEA adult learning in Angus St. This is an evening class, suited to those who work days or those who just want to escape the tea-time chaos at home!!! From 6pm for 2 hours of very satisfying FUN, on a Wednesday evening! Choose a design, learn how to make the pattern (if you need) prepare the backing & the iron-on fabrics - then assemble your design. Then learn how to enjoy the slow stitching to bring you hours of calm & restful enjoyment as your design comes to life. Enrol now at WEA website to join us :)

OhMG, I have a lovely Patchwork Quilt that I am working on, that my students are going to love (hopefully, because I do!) That will show them a quilt that doesn't need quilting, it's just the way it gets sewn together! Sorry, no pic 'Cos it's going to be a surprise (well, for everyone except WEA Jessica Gower but she's only seen the rough version thus far! Pics after Monday 😀

We're up to our 4th lesson (of 6) and all the gorgeous quilts are starting to come together! Each one is different from the others and all are exciting when we look at what is being constructed from random fabric squares. The Disappearing 9 Patch is my favorite as a beginning quilt to teach because it becomes "Pure Magic" when the pieces are all joined together, then cut, rearranged & sewn back together, forming magically - such a gorgeous design that looks as though we've stitched forever!!! Ahhh! The great feeling of accomplishment!!!! My students are having such a fun time with this!!! Next Beginners Patchwork is an evening class, starting July 1st from 6pm. Class numbers are limited! Whoo hoo! School is back in for the kiddies and SCHOOL is back on for Adults at WEA in Angus st. in the city. This Monday, my "Patchwork Quilting for Beginners" starts a new course! With a very easy, six week course - Monday mornings for this one - Learn the basics to making a Patchwork Quilt AND soak up all the fun & enthusiasm that comes by joining my classes. The WEA - Workers Education Association began 110 years ago to offer further education - on almost any subject - for Adults. Many short courses (one day or few weeks) are a fun opportunity to learn something that you've never done before OR with my classes, I offer different styles of Patchwork as your experience builds - AND your enthusiasm to try a harder design!!! Rebecca - very talented in making "Quiet Books" for Kiddies, made this really lovely Doggie Quilt in darkish colour tones. She also, is already most of the way thru her second quilt! The first one is Longarm quilted & just needs some black binding & the makers label on the back!
