Growing up in this environment, William Van de Zwaan acquired a vast knowledge of plant nutrition and background of commercial grower production. After graduating with a bio chemistry degree in the eld of Plant Physiology, William went back to his family’s greenhouse with the intention of creating nutrients to boost his family’s rose production. Around this time (early 90’s) there began an era of intense indoor guerrilla and commercial gardening in Holland. From this came the first demand for a complete nutrient line. William was sought out by entrepreneurs and fertilizer companies to consult on their products but quickly realized his ideas were better. William decided to come up with his own nutrient line where he could mimic Mother Nature in a controlled environment. He also had a deep desire to uphold his family’s legacy in the eld of horticulture. That is why he puts his family name on each bottle. What sets H&G above the competition?
