Spring fertilising helps replenish the nutrients your lawn needs as warmer weather brings active growth back.

Think of it as breakfast for your lawn.

As couch, kikuyu and buffalo lawns move out of winter dormancy, their nutrient demand increases. If you fertilised in autumn, much of that stored nutrition has also done its job by now.

For spring, the aim is to provide readily available nutrition. A complete fertiliser supplying nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and trace elements supports strong growth, colour, root development and resilience as the lawn gets going again. Organic fertilisers also have an important role in building soil health and microbial activity but release their nutrients more gradually.

If your lawn is ready for its spring feed, our current offer is a good opportunity to stock up — save 20% when you buy 2 or more bags from the Paul Munns fertiliser range, with mix & match until 15 October.

Natural and synthetic turf can both be great lawn options for Adelaide gardens this spring — the right choice depends on the space and how you want to use it.

Natural turf gives you a living lawn, a cooler surface underfoot and the feel of real grass. With the right variety and care, it can create a beautiful, practical outdoor space.

Synthetic turf gives you a consistently neat, green finish with very little ongoing lawn maintenance. It’s hardwearing, doesn’t need mowing, watering or fertilising, and can be a great option for busy areas or spots where growing natural turf is difficult.

There are good reasons to choose either. Think about how the area will be used, the conditions, maintenance, budget and the look and feel you want.

We compare the two here:

Early September is prime time for lawn coring in Adelaide.

If your lawn feels hard underfoot, water struggles to soak in, or some areas aren’t performing as well as they should, soil compaction could be part of the problem.

Coring removes small plugs of soil, helping relieve compaction and creating channels through the root zone for air, water and nutrients.

Early spring is a useful window to get this done before our warm-season lawns move properly into their spring growth period.

See it before choosing

Choosing a lawn from a photo or a name can be hard.
The colour, texture and feel of a lawn are much easier to understand when you can see it in real life.

That is why the display lawns at Hove are useful, especially if you are starting to think about a spring lawn project.

Come in, have a look, and bring your questions about shade, dogs, kids, wear, watering, soil or timing.

You can explore the different lawn options here:

Before spring gets busy

Lawns may slow down through the colder months, but winter can still be a useful time to plan what comes next.

It’s a good time to measure up, prepare soil, think through timing, and decide whether turf, seed, repair or waiting for stronger spring growth makes the most sense for your space.

If you’re starting to think about a lawn project, bring in your rough measurements or a few photos, and we can help you work through the options before spring gets busy.
