Paul’s Journey, A small Update ❤️
It’s been a while since we updated everyone, and I know many of you last heard from us around the time Paul had his amputation.
Unfortunately, our journey has taken another difficult turn.
After the amputation, Paul continued with chemotherapy and daily radiotherapy. A few weeks ago he developed quite severe pain in his back. Scans showed a metastatic spot around T5, so he underwent radiation to that area. Thankfully, the radiation did help and that particular pain has settled.
But further scans have now shown that the cancer has spread to other areas, including his ribs, pelvis and collarbone. At the moment, the ribs are causing him a lot of pain and he is struggling to move and take deep breaths comfortably.
Paul is currently in Emergency, where the doctors are working to get his pain under control. His blood pressure is very low and his haemoglobin is also low, so they are looking at a blood transfusion before they can safely give him stronger pain relief.
This is obviously not the news we had hoped for, and it has been a tough time for Paul of late and all of us who love him.
But Paul is still fighting. ❤️
His medical team are now looking at the next stage of treatment, including a stronger chemotherapy approach, while also using radiation where it can help control the painful areas. We are taking everything one step at a time and putting our trust in his amazing doctors, nurses and specialists.
We are so incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported Paul along the way, whether you have donated, shared his story, sent a message, checked in or simply kept him in your thoughts. It has meant more to us than we could ever explain.
We still have a long road ahead.
But we’re here. We’re fighting. And we’re taking it one day at a time. ❤️
Thank you for continuing to stand beside Paul and our family. xx
