This month's highlight is this stunning necklace made by that came away with first prize at the Royal Adelaide Show, how incredible!
Thankyou Mary for sharing this with us and we asked her to write a little bit about the process: This necklace had many versions until settling with this design. Initially it was a ropelike necklace with handmade charms hanging off it but that didn't pop. The design was altered to use different type of stitched ropes.
Materials used are wire, Nymo thread, both seed beads and glass beads and clasps. The glass beads are size 6mm from Heart Bead Studio.
Creating with beads is my relax time. I enjoy using stitching skills, designing and experiementing. I never follow a pattern, just let my creativity go wild. I enter competitions at the show to keep my love of beading alive. My line of work is in science where precision is key and making or creating is not encouraged so beading is my outlet for creativity.
