There’s something about a 70th birthday that feels… different.
It isn’t just a celebration — it’s a gathering of decades. Of stories told and retold. Of hands that have held families together, recipes that have been passed down, moments that have quietly shaped everything that came after.
Floral cupcakes felt important for this one because flowers have always carried meaning. They mark time. They honour people. They say the things that words sometimes can’t.
And buttercream flowers… they feel even more personal.
Each one is made slowly, intentionally — petal by petal — much like the life being celebrated. Not rushed. Not perfect. But full of care, patience, and quiet beauty.
For me, creating florals for a 70th isn’t about making something “pretty.”
It’s about creating something that feels like a reflection of a life well lived.
Soft. Layered. Thoughtful.
A little nostalgic.
The kind of beauty that doesn’t need to shout to be deeply felt.
And in a small way, it’s my way of honouring the women who came before us too — the ones who baked, gathered, nurtured, and created moments around tables… just like this one.
