Weavers of the World was set up in 2007 in response to the dire needs of poor rural women in East Timor. Since then it has expanded to support artisan collectives in a wide range of under-deveoloped countries by buying their products at Fair Trade prices. Products include scarves, bags, rugs, throws, hats and toys from countries as diverse as Mali, Tunisia, Mongolia, Guatemala, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, India and the Tiwi Islands of Australia.
