I wanted to be a doctor. 😂

That was the plan.

Study hard. Become a doctor. Save lives. Very serious, very respectable, very straightforward.

Then life said… that’s cute.

I grew up, got married, became a mum, moved countries, built a life I could never have imagined back then… and somewhere along the way, I found flowers.

Now instead of walking into a hospital with a stethoscope, I walk into venues with boxes of flowers, cable ties, scissors and approximately 47 things hanging from my hands.

And somehow, it fits.

Because I’ve realised that creativity was always in me. I just didn’t know this was what it would look like.

Today, I get to play with colour, shape, texture and movement. I take empty spaces and turn them into places where people celebrate love, milestones and some of the happiest moments of their lives.

So no, I didn’t become the doctor I thought I would be.

But I think I found my own kind of magic after all.

Life has a funny way of rewriting the plan… and sometimes, the plot twist is actually really beautiful.

And now I get to use that plot twist to make your special moments beautiful too.

So if you live in Adelaide and you’ve got a wedding, or a special celebration coming up and you want flowers that make the whole space feel magical… come find the girl who was supposed to be a doctor. 😂

Who else has been here? 🙋‍♀️

The venue says pack down by midnight, the party’s still going strong, guests are dancing like it’s 1999, and there’s us… standing in the corner wondering how on earth we’re supposed to start pulling flowers while people are still taking pictures.

It’s such a tricky one — you don’t want to be rude, you don’t want to kill the vibe, but the venue’s in your neck about bump-out times. Do you wait? Do you gently tap a guest on the shoulder mid–dance move? Do you just go stealth mode with the ladder?

Fellow stylists & event crews — what’s the right approach here? Drop your survival tips below because surely I’m not the only one caught in this late-night bump out dilemma!
