Before the farm, before the new life, before four decades of Tweedvale Milk - there was just this: two young people, a bench in Italy, and a future they hadn't written yet.

Rita couldn't have known, sitting here, that she'd one day become a dairyfarmer, grandmother, award winner, business owner, engineer, operations manager, maintenance person, cleaner and onsite barista - and sometimes all before lunch! She just knew she wanted a life with Giulliano, wherever that led.

And it led here, to a second-hand pasteuriser, steep learning curves, long hours, a couple of literal fires to put out (Cuddle Creek fires came close), and eventually, a brand South Australians love.

None of it was planned in the way you plan a business. It grew out of two people willing to learn as they went, work hard, and build something together on values that never changed even as everything else did.

Rita has retired, but the dream that started long before Tweedvale Milk - a life, a partnership, a family is the legacy that remains.

Because that's really what this has always been about - a great partnership. Between Rita and Giulliano, yes, but also between great product and great food, between quality ingredients and the meals that bring a family together.

In Calabria, wild fennel is a true winter staple. Our Nonnas have always made the most of what nature provides, using every part of the plant—from the bulb to the fragrant fronds—to create simple, nourishing meals that warm both the body and the soul.

Here in South Australia, we're lucky that wild fennel grows abundantly, and the delicate fennel fronds are perfect for recipes like this. If you're out foraging, be sure you're confident you've correctly identified the plant. If not, the fennel from your local greengrocer works beautifully too.

This creamy fennel risotto is everything winter cooking should be—warm, wholesome and comforting, made with just a handful of everyday ingredients. It's a beautiful reminder that some of the most satisfying meals come from simple, seasonal produce.

We hope this recipe brings a little taste of a Calabrian winter to your table. 🌿💚

Some things keep you warm from the outside in. Others, like this photo, warm you from the inside out.

We're cooking this winter the way women in our family dressed: with care, with pride, and with enough love to go around the whole table. Recipes that were always more about who's in the kitchen than what's on the stove.

Rug up, come in from the cold, and let us feed you like family. 🍲✨

In Italy, the table is where everything happens. 🍝❤️

For the Lorenzetti family, food has never been just about eating — it's about gathering, traditional recipes, and passing them down through generations. A simple frittata, a birthday sponge cake, or a chef's modern take on an old favourite — it's all part of the same story.

That's exactly why Tweedvale Milk felt like such a natural fit for Kitchen Paradiso. Every dish we create is a link between heritage and the future, and we're proud to be telling this story, one recipe at a time.

From the mountains of central Italy, to the Adelaide Hills, to your table — that's the Tweedvale Milk story, and we're glad to be part of it. 🇮🇹

Polenta was a staple in our Nonna’s village in Calabria, and when they came to Australia, it remained a staple here too. 🌽❤️

Cheap, filling, and able to feed the masses, polenta was the kind of food that helped families through hard times. Simple, versatile, and comforting, it could be served in countless ways.

Today we're serving it with hearty greens or rich Napoletana sauce—a reminder that some of the humblest dishes are often the most memorable.

Every great meal starts with a strong foundation. 🍽️
Layer by layer, stirred with patience, simmered with care until it's rich enough, steady enough to hold whatever life piles on top of it.

Here are Antonia (Tania), Rosina and Maria. Three sisters, a lifetime of shared tables, recipes and love. But not all dishes tasted the same, yet the foundations were always there.
