A quick overnight trip to Melbourne for the Affordable Art Fair at the beautiful Royal Exhibition Building 🎨✨

With over 70 exhibiting galleries and thousands of original artworks, the talent on display was incredible. So much colour, creativity and inspiration all in one place.

It was so wonderful to finally meet some of the lovely ladies from my Artizone community — Jessica Taft | Australian Oil & Watercolour Painter Ani Ipradjian ✚ Abstract Australian Artist 🖌 & KimberleyCardowArtist — in person. 💛

I also loved seeing Tania Chanter | Australian Abstract Landscape Artist beautiful work and catching up with Avi from Fantastic Framing

It was fabulous chatting with Martine from Martine Gallery about all things resin and also wonderful to meet .art in person.

I am so sad I didn’t get any video of Misha Harrison — I was so excited to finally see her artwork up close. It was even better in person. ✨

Hopefully one day I may even get the chance to display my own art!!

Such a fun and inspiring Melbourne art adventure. 🥰

AI or Not to Ai

I want to talk about something that happened after I shared a series of videos promoting my original artwork & limited-edition prints.

I used a small amount of AI to animate my own paintings—to bring my Australian Original Artworks to life, add a bit of fun & create something different.

I spent hours making those videos. I was genuinely proud of them.

But then the comments started.

Awful private messages, nasty comments on my Instagram page & horrible remarks underneath my Meta ads. People accused me of not being a real artist and assumed I was selling AI-generated artwork without even taking a moment to visit my website or look at what I actually create.

These are my original paintings. I painted them. The AI was simply a promotional tool used to animate artwork that already existed.

Some of the worst comments came from other ARTISTS & honestly, that hurt the most.

I ended up taking the ads down because I felt embarrassed, upset and bullied by adults acting like stupid school kids.

I regret doing that. I gave in to people who knew nothing about me, my work, or the hours I put into creating those videos.

And I don’t want to do that anymore.

Before you leave a cruel comment on someone’s page or advertisement, take a moment to check them out. Look at their website. Find out who they are and what they actually do.

You don’t have to like AI. You don’t have to use it in your own work. But you also don’t need to tear someone down for using a little bit of technology to promote something they created with their own hands.

I am a real artist. These are my original paintings. I was simply trying to bring a little more movement, fun and joy to the way I shared them.

There is a person behind every page, every advertisement and every piece of artwork.

Please remember that before you type something designed to make them feel like a piece of s**t.

Last week I had the most amazing time visiting Sydney to watch the Larger Than Life show Larger Than Life

A very special moment for me was seeing my son Logan Grant perform on stage as a professional dancer & also singing alongside three other talented men.

The show was fantastic and definitely worth seeing. I had the best time and left feeling like one very proud mum. ❤️

A weekend I’ll never forget 💛

After nine long months, I finally got to spend time with my son Logan in Sydney.

The weekend started with a very bumpy Qantas flight, but once I landed, I made my way to Maroubra to meet Avi, the owner of Fantastic Framing. Avi and his team print my high-quality fine art prints and carefully package and post them out to my collectors Fantastic Framing

It was so special to finally meet Avi in person, meet the staff & see the store. Watch how frames are cut and made, see the canvases being put together, and look at the large printer that brings my artwork to life as beautiful prints.

Then came the moment I had been waiting for — seeing Logan Logan Grant

He picked me up, drove me around Sydney for the weekend & surprised me with the most beautiful dinner in the city. On Saturday we hung out before watching him perform in 90s Larger Than Life at Canterbury Leagues Club Larger Than Life

What a show. Four incredibly talented men, amazing vocals, so much energy & a dance floor full of people having the best night. I was beyond proud watching my son do what he loves.

On Sunday, Logan took me to the Art Gallery of NSW to see the Archibald finalists, which was such a special way to finish our weekend together Art Gallery NSW

It was quick, emotional, inspiring and exactly what I needed — time alone with my son.

Now I’m back home in Albury with a very full heart. 💛
