The kindness and generosity we have been shown from so many in our community, and beyond, has been so overwhelmingly beautiful and appreciated. Everywhere we turn there has been an offer of help in some way or another and often leaves me speechless. Thank you so, so, much.

This Saturday 9th Dec, the Ararat Salvation Army Store has set up a FUNDRAISER SALE with proceeds from the store’s sales of the day being donated to help us out. 💕
Being avid op-shoppers and collectors, we have long been customers of the store, as well as being neighbours and long time friends of many involved with the store and the Church.

On top of their amazing fundraiser, our dearest Nana J & Poppy D will be cooking up a storm on the BBQ to raise some much needed funds to help us build a living space again.

This offer of assistance truly means so much to us, so to all involved please know that we are grateful and appreciative of all that are involved and digging deep especially at this time of year.

So if you love a good bargain and a Saturday morning snag in bread head on down to the Salvos in Ararat and see what you can find!

We will do our best to make an appearance (going out in town and talking to everyone is still very hard for me) but we would love to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts. 💕

Although the Mumma J’s Social accounts have been a bit quiet, rest assured that the creative side of me has been powering through projects at the speed of light! ⚡️ Here’s a look at a gift I recently put together for a dear friend of mine. Welcome baby T, you really are the loveliest 🥰 I used a gradient 4 strand yarn called ‘Illusions’ purchased at Lincraft a few years back to create the crochet 12 point star blanket and also the edging around the flannel wrap. Cute little extras came from Kmart. 👌🏼 Nawwww I’m still a sucker for super cute baby things even though my own baby is about to turn 10!!! 🙀

Everyone meet our first model Dobby. 🐶 Dobby (named for obvious reasons 👂🏼👂🏼) is my mum’s little doggo friend who I spoiled yesterday with some of my latest creations. 😉 I mean how could I not make something with this fabric for our big eared friend….? 😬 A comfy collar and my new double layered, contrast coloured, collar bandana! Soooo cute!! I’ll be making these in a huge range of fabrics & different sizes real soon. 👍🏼 And how about some matching collars & lead sets? Don’t mind if I do…. 😊

It’s just gone 3.30am, my house is quiet, my orders are done and I have finally grabbed a moment to update this page! 🥵If that isn’t a good indicator of how hectic life around here has been then I don’t know what is! 🏃🏻‍♀️ For those that are new here I’d like to introduce myself and welcome you all to my crafty chaos. My name is Jacqui, but please call me Jac, I’m a mum of 7 (6+1) and I live in country Victoria, Australia. Not only is my home overflowing with kids, we’re also animal obsessed too with endless pets that we cherish and dote on every waking moment. 😻 I’ve always loved to create in all ways imaginable, often dabbling in writing/blogging, crochet, macramé, beading, scrapbooking, diamond dots, embroidery, knitting, music/song writing and of course most recently, mountains upon mountains of sewing! 🪡 It’s hard to say what my favourite craft is, I just know that “crafting each day, keeps my meltdowns at bay…” 😉 At the moment, Im designing and sewing a range of jackets, collars, halti collars, leads and more for a local Therapy & Obedience Dog Training business. 🐶 It has certainly kept me busy (I’ve even been pinning fabrics on roadtrips!) but it has been so rewarding watching my creations develop and come to life! I am now in the process of naming & expanding the range and opening up orders to the public, which is pretty exciting! 😬 On top of all this crafting, I spend the other half of my week teaching guitar lessons to primary school students, some rockin’ teens and even some awesome adults too! 🎸 Of course Covid has played havoc with my school based guitar lessons over the last two years (thank goodness for zoom) so I am hoping like crazy to get back to some kind of regular routine this year, including adding a beginner’s singing teacher to my music studio business! 🤞🏼What do I do in my spare time? Well I try to plan things out and keep organised, but you can see how well that’s going in the last picture 🤣🤣🤣 Stay tuned, good things are coming, they just take a little while around here…. 🙃

I’ve been sewing up a storm lately on a project with our local dog trainer Annie. I honestly think Western Victoria will not only have the largest population of extremely well behaved doggos, but also the most funky and fancy looking doggos too thanks to the incredible work this lady does! 🐶 Feels good to be working on something other than masks.... but seriously, should I make some more masks again?? How’s everyone feeling with the latest Victorian COVID outbreak??
