Indigenous Arts FNQ

Indigenous Arts FNQ Indigenous artefacts from Tropical Nth Queensland Handcrafted by local Indigenous artist Mick Barlow Boomerangs - there is an array of different boomerangs.

Michael (traditional name: Gundoii) is a direct descendant from the Woodginburra tribe which originates on the Atherton Tablelands Far North Queensland. Michael has been making aboriginal artifacts for over 20 yrs. Timbers which make up the beautiful selection of didgeridoos include: blood wood; stringy bark; iron bark & different eucalyptus species, which are all grown on and around the outskirts

of the Atherton Tablelands. Didgeridoo - All didgeridoos have been eaten out by termites and are only cleaned back to reveal the beauty of the timber and the unique sound of the didgeridoo. The most common sold are the replica boomerangs - these are not for hunting and do not return ( for display only). Coolamons - Traditional carry vesicle for food, baby’s and tools. Digging sticks- Traditional tool for foraging. Clap sticks - used in celebrations and ceremonies - dancing and storytelling. Nulla nulla - hunting tool - replica (for display purposes only)

All these are hand made, therefore all artwork and artifacts produced are unique - I paint on order. Please message for individual prices on pieces and paintings.

They were given short amount of time to grab what they could before evacuating- 24hrs worth .. what they have now is total destruction. Their home and belongings are gone 😞.
