New to the Hallway Gallery at Foundry, we’re delighted to welcome Helga Ruffles with her solo exhibition. 🚂🎨

A colourful collection of moments captured along the way, Helga’s photographs take us travelling through the places, patterns, details and everyday moments that catch her eye. With bold contrasts, vivid colour and a wonderful eye for composition, she transforms what she sees into striking images. ❤️

✨ Amongst the things you’ll find at Foundry are little glimpses of what’s happening in our wider creative community — and the Firkin Exhibition is coming up again.

Now in its 9th year, artists and creatives, both local and from further afield, are invited to create their own interpretation of a small vessel.

And that’s one of the things we love about it — seeing just how differently everyone responds to the idea of a vessel. The imagination, skill and variety of work that turns up each year is pretty extraordinary. ❤️

So, a little heads-up to artists — entries are open, with a $1000 Small Vessel Prize.

And if you’re not entering, put it in your diary and go along for a look!

✨️We’ve got some big news…

The Artists’ Space has officially gone to print!

After months of studio visits, interviews, photography, writing and design, our first edition is finally being printed - 300 copies of a hardcover book featuring 28 East Gippsland artists and the places where they create.

Pre-orders are now open.

At $64 a copy, your pre-order helps us cover the printing costs upfront and makes a huge difference to our little not-for-profit.

Books will be ready for collection or postage around the end of November.

If you’re out and about over the long weekend and feel like a little wander, Foundry will be open Friday and Saturday.

Come in and see what’s new, have a browse through the work of our local artists and makers, or perhaps find something special to take home or give to someone you love. ❤️

✨ New work from Cleed

Callie’s new works are an exploration of experimentation and innovation — testing new possibilities in enamel and reclaimed materials through permanence, heat, trial and fire.

Translating mark making in alcohol inks into vitreous enamel, Callie sees topographies, microcosms and watercolour garden plans.

Callie is essentially exploring different rates of evaporation in her mark making. At the two extremes, the violence of a sizzle contrasted with a gentle droplet applied on a cool enamel surface.
