The DIA NSW Branch Council is delighted be hosting the Inclusive Design Series, a program of lectures and interactive workshops emphasising inclusive design principles in daily design practices.
Over the year, we will host a series of talks and workshops, each examining approaches to inclusive design from different perspectives and through varying specialisations.
Our first talk focusses on indigenous design and we are thrilled that Ros Moriarty and Johnny Bridges from Balarinji have agreed to share their stories with us, spanning the incredible 40 year history of Balarinji.
Balarinji is Australia's foremost Indigenous design and strategy studio. As an Aboriginal-owned studio, Balarinji was founded on authentic engagement with Aboriginal people, culture, art, stories and identity. Balarinji's work is an authentic response to Place and Country that is informed by local Aboriginal knowledge holders, storytellers and creatives.
John and Ros Moriarty of Balarinji were awarded the 2022 DIA President's Prize.
