New carved porcelain mugs fresh from the kiln, and a couple of uncarved ones for something different.

I accidentally put too much silica in this batch of White Cliffs Opal, but I think I like it better like this. The finish seems to be smoother and more reliable.

New mugs in the late afternoon light. I'm very pleased with how this firing went.

I'm back at Ballarat Farmers Market this Saturday, in the South Pavilion of the new Ballarat Showgrounds. Looks like being perfect weather for an indoor market.

Preheat today, ahead of a bisque firing. I nearly always run a preheat program to make sure my pots are properly dry and won't blow up in the bisque firing. It's especially important in cold, damp conditions. My programs are listed next to the kiln controller and I always flick through the program to make sure I have selected the right one before hitting the start button.
