Whenever I make XL mugs people ask me if I can make them bigger.

I like a mug that holds around 320ml, so anything much bigger than that feels silly. But so many of you want BIG mugs, so for this batch I focused on getting as much out of 1kg of clay as I could.

Here is what I got, with a bisque fired regular size mug for comparison. Hopefully getting closer to the 800ml mark. It will be interesting to see how they measure up after firing.

I don't want to go much over 1kg of clay for these big mugs, so it's a matter of using my skills to the best of my ability.

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by my stall today, whether to have a look, tell me how much you love the mug you bought from me previously, buy a gift, or add something new to your collection.

I won't be back at the market until November 28, but I'll be getting a lot of work made up to bisque stage so I can glaze according to demand in the lead-up to Christmas. If you see something you like in my posts between now and then you are welcome to message me and I am happy to put it aside for you to collect at one of the pre-Christmas markets, or we can arrange pickup or postage.

This week I tried the bake-at-home sausage rolls made by Quince & Cakes and available from Sinclair Meats . The pastry is made with spelt flour and butter and the filling is pork mince with bacon. So good! I reheated the last one for lunch today and they even reheat well (1 min in the microwave, 5 min in the air fryer).

A big afternoon of measuring and cataloging this month's mugs, from a 50ml espresso cups to a 600ml XL mugs. Come and check them all out at Ballarat Farmers Market tomorrow, North Gardens, Lake Wendouree. All made with my own hands, right here in my garage.
