Some things are too juicy to keep quiet. "Rumour Has It" is a large-scale exploration of beautiful chaos—where soft, romantic florals meet the gritty reality of scribbled lines and energetic marks.
Created with layers of acrylics, oil sticks, and pencil, this piece balances deep magentas and playful pinks with raw, nervous scratching to create my signature "Elegant Friction." It’s lush, it’s loud, and it’s definitely not whispering.

"I am fascinated by the 'perfectly imperfect' nature of the places we live. My work often starts with a chaotic, textured base—using sgraffito and aggressive mark-making—which I then refine with layers of colour.
For 'Keeping Up Appearances,' I was influenced by the contrast of Australian suburban life: the bright, sunny exterior versus the complex, shifting stories happening inside. I wanted the house to feel like it was dancing or melting, challenging the viewer's need for straight lines and rigid perspectives."
