Working on Bundjalung country. Satya Ceramics produce ceramic tableware and homeware made with heart and hand for the love and enjoyment of others. Satya is the Sanskrit word for truth.

My heart is full.

When I had the opportunity to relaunch and start making again, I jumped at the chance but had no idea where it would go.

It’s been about 5 years since I was making regularly. I was rusty, I’d lost confidence in my glaze making, I didn’t know if people would still be interested.

But I did it, through a tonne of challenges behind the Instagram facade!

Open Studios give us an opportunity to talk clay, creativity and build community. That can be hard for an introvert with a fair degree of social anxiety, but every single person who came through the doors on the weekend was positive, kind and curious. So thank you for being you!

Thank you!!

So many lovely and interesting people came through the studio. A thousand thanks for your kind words, purchases or simply visiting and showing an interest.

I met people from Tasmania, Perth, Cronulla and the Sunshine Coast, as well as locals from far and wide - all interested in ceramics, community and creativity. Many were craftspeople themselves, some just exploring.

Most were Mud Trail veterans or had been wanting to do it for years. That says a lot about this North Coast Ceramics event.

So cool. But still just warming up.

It was fun, let’s do it again next year!!
