I couldn’t resist and had to visit the Yarn Dragon factory store in Pioneer Square and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Jonathan, the main dyeing dragon, a little of whose yarn is coming home with me.
Both alpaca silk bases and such moody colourways. I have plans for the purple and the other will have to wait but inspiration will come soon; I’m sure of it.

2 yarn stores in one day! In one hour, actually. It helps that they are quite close to each other.
Yarn Dragon can be found downstairs in Pike Place Public Market, and has a great selection of their own hand-dyed yarn waiting to be worked into something magical or you can buy ready made socks, gloves and beanies in their yarn. Truly magical!
So Much Yarn is a short walk around the corner and is filled top to bottom and side to side with an amazing array of yarn from hand-dyed to big name brands. Something for everyone

I found local yarn in Hawaii!
Stopped at Kailua-Kona and happened upon Quilt Passions with an amazing selection of fabrics, notions and yarn where I also found hand-dyed, locally produced Ohana Yarn from Ohana Fiber Mill. The fiber is spun from local sheep, a cross between Merino, Corriedale and Romney.
What will I create? 🤔
