Hi everyone 🥰 What a gorgeous spring day today here in Bathurst! I love this perfect weather before it quickly gets too hot.

I promised some samples of the 12 ply Cotton/Bamboo Luxe.

The first image is a mosaic pattern Chai Latte Blanket by RedTeapotAtelier. I’m using Serene Sugar Plum (a new colourway) 1500m and Cream solid. I’ve so far used one of three of the serene cakes and about 1/2 of a 500m cream solid. I’ve completed four repeats and it’s already measuring 70cm across. This is going to be a wall hanging in my living room. The colour transitions are so subtle! No wonder when they change one thread at a time (12 times between colors). The purple is just starting to come in. This is thick and heavy and could be suitable for a weighted blanket, wall hanging or table decoration. Even a floor rug!

The second image is another 1500m new colourway called Serene Caramel Berry. The pattern is Marnie’s garden by HOS. Finished with enough for one more round. Approx 120cm across and very luxe and luscious. Perfect for winter weather, but not too heavy either and it drapes so beautifully. Plus it only took a week to make. This 12ply 1500m option is definitely great for a quick but stunning large baby blanket or lap blanket/throw.

Finally a 12ply ombre made from Sustainable yarn!

Our most popular Cotton/Bamboo Luxe now has the option of 12ply in the Serene range and the Solid range.

We are busy making some samples up for you, so keep an eye out for some inspirations. I can tell you so far, we are making a mosaic blanket, and a HOS blanket. The mosaic is definitely thick and more suitable to a wall hanging, rug, or table decoration. But the HOS blanket is luscious and gloriously soft and a perfect thickness for colder weather (photo coming soon).

Let’s talk hooks! I love Clover hooks. They glide through the work so much better, plus something about the tip makes it easier to do puff stitches. I have a few Tulip hooks in bigger sizes that I like, too.

What’s your favourite crochet hook, and why? Is it the grip? The glide? The colour? The sentimental value? Your answer might help someone discover their new favourite tool.
