✨ Styled today in Templestowe ✨

Warm, welcoming and thoughtfully styled by Kurved by Design.

We paired soft neutrals with olive green, blush and warm caramel accents, adding depth through textured rugs, layered bedding and touches of black. Natural timber and woven details bring warmth, while glass tables keep the living and dining spaces feeling light and open.

Furniture placement defines each zone while maintaining clear walkways and flow towards the balcony helping buyers picture how they could live, relax and entertain here.

Every detail works together to create a cohesive home with personality and buyer appeal. 🤍

🎨 COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY IN YOUR HOME 🏡

Colour does more than change how a room looks it can influence how it feels. From restful bedrooms to welcoming living spaces, here’s how to choose your palette. ✨

💙 Blue — calm and serenity
Soft blues can create a peaceful atmosphere in bedrooms and quiet spaces. Add them through cushions, artwork or bedding.

💚 Green — balance and connection to nature
Sage and olive tones bring a gentle, grounded feel. Introduce green through plants, upholstery or a feature wall.

💛 Yellow — warmth and optimism
A cheerful accent for kitchens or dining spaces. Try small touches in flowers, artwork or accessories.

🧡 Terracotta — warmth and comfort
Earthy tones make living areas feel cosy and inviting. Pair them with timber, natural linen and textured ceramics.

🤍 Warm neutrals — softness and simplicity
Cream, beige and warm white create a versatile backdrop. Layer different textures to give the room depth and character.

🖤 Black — depth and sophistication
Use black in lighting, furniture details or frames to define a space and add contrast.

🏡 Designer tip: Colour is personal, and lighting changes everything! Test samples in your room at different times of day and choose shades that support how you want to feel.

🏡 WHAT DOES YOUR HOUSE NUMBER SAY ABOUT YOUR HOME?

Have you ever added up your house number and wondered what it represents? 👀✨

In numerology, every house number is believed to carry a different energy and some of the meanings might surprise you!

To find yours, simply add the numbers together until you reach one digit.

Example: House No. 27 → 2 + 7 = 9

✨ 1 — New beginnings, independence & ambition
🤍 2 — Partnership, harmony & connection
🎨 3 — Creativity, happiness & communication
🏡 4 — Stability, security & strong foundations
🌿 5 — Freedom, change & adventure
💕 6 — Family, nurturing & home
🔮 7 — Reflection, spirituality & tranquillity
💰 8 — Abundance, success & prosperity
✨ 9 — Completion, compassion & transformation

Whether you believe in numerology or simply find it interesting, our homes often become part of our story and it’s fascinating to see whether the number matches the home and the people living there.

👇 Calculate yours and tell us your number in the comments. Does it sound like your home?

✨ FENG SHUI & SELLING YOUR HOME ✨

When preparing a property for sale, we often talk about colour, furniture placement, light and flow but these are also key principles of Feng Shui.

Feng Shui is centred around creating balance and allowing energy to move freely through a space. And whether or not you personally follow Feng Shui, many of its principles make perfect sense when styling a home for sale.

⭐️ A cluttered entrance, oversized furniture or blocked walkways can make a home feel smaller and harder to navigate. Instead, creating clear pathways, open sightlines and a welcoming entrance helps buyers naturally move through the property.

⭐️ Natural light is another important element. Opening blinds, keeping windows unobstructed and using mirrors thoughtfully can help a home feel brighter, fresher and more spacious.

⭐️ Furniture placement should create balance rather than simply fill a room. We want buyers to immediately understand the purpose of each space while still feeling there is room to breathe.

⭐️ Then there’s the emotional side. Soft textures, greenery, natural materials, considered artwork and a cohesive colour palette can create a sense of calm, warmth and harmony.

When selling your home, you’re not only selling four walls you’re selling the feeling of living there.

And sometimes, the difference between a buyer simply seeing a property and imagining it as their home is how the space makes them feel. 🤍

✨ STYLING WITH FLOW, WARMTH & PURPOSE ✨

Today’s property staging was all about creating a home that feels warm, cohesive and inviting, while allowing the existing character of the property to shine.

We worked with a soft, contemporary palette of warm neutrals, charcoal, black, blush and earthy tones, taking inspiration from the beautiful timber flooring, exposed brick and timber features already within the home.

Rather than fighting those stronger architectural elements, we used them as the foundation for the styling.

Throughout the home, you’ll notice colours are intentionally repeated. Soft blush tones appear in the artwork, cushions and accessories, while black and charcoal create contrast and definition. Natural timber, textured rugs, linen-look upholstery and greenery then soften the overall look and connect the interiors back to the warmth of the flooring.

This repetition is an important part of creating visual flow. When buyers move from one room to another, there should be a subtle connection between each space without every room looking exactly the same.

In the living areas, we kept the larger furniture relatively neutral and introduced personality through artwork, cushions, texture and carefully considered accessories. Glass elements were also used in some of the smaller spaces to keep sightlines open and prevent the rooms from feeling visually heavy.

The bedrooms continue the same story, with layered bedding, oversized cushions, contrasting black accents and artwork bringing warmth and depth while still keeping the spaces calm and restful.

And that gorgeous original brick fireplace? 🤎 Rather than trying to disguise it, we allowed it to become a feature, surrounding it with softer contemporary pieces that balance the character of the home.

Good property staging isn’t simply about filling empty rooms with beautiful furniture.

It’s about understanding scale, proportion, colour, balance and flow and using them to help buyers understand how a home can be lived in.

A home should photograph beautifully, but more importantly, when a potential buyer walks through the front door, it should simply feel right.

Another beautiful transformation completed by the Kurved by Design team. 🤍

LOUNGE ROOM DESIGN | BEAUTY MEETS FUNCTION 🤍

The lounge room is often the heart of the home. It’s where we unwind at the end of the day, entertain friends and family, curl up with a coffee, and actually live so good design needs to be about more than simply making a room look beautiful.

At Kurved by Design, we always consider how a space is going to function before we think about the finishing touches.

✨ Furniture placement matters. The right layout creates natural movement through the room without making it feel empty or overcrowded.

✨ Scale and proportion are everything. A sofa, rug or coffee table that is too large or too small can completely change how a room feels.

✨ Create conversation. Occasional chairs positioned opposite or adjacent to the sofa help turn a lounge into a welcoming, social space rather than simply a room facing a television.

✨ Define the space. A well sized rug anchors the furniture and creates a sense of connection between individual pieces particularly important in open-plan homes.

✨ Layer your textures. Cushions, throws, timber, greenery, artwork and accessories add warmth and personality without overwhelming the room.

✨ Think about how you actually live. Beautiful design should never come at the expense of comfort or practicality.

Whether we are designing a home for our clients or styling a property for sale, our goal is the same: create a room that feels balanced, inviting and effortless while making the best possible use of the space.

Because the best interiors aren’t just beautiful to look at.

They’re beautiful to live in too. 🤍
