Mandala Art founder, Jay, had a wonderful time at the Vic MAANZ Exhibition earlier in the month and was thrilled to award Sylvia Ring with her First Time Entrant Award.

Her piece, "The Never Ending Connectivity of our Planet" was truly stunning.

This is a beautiful initiative from Central Health Palliative Care Services in South Australia using mosaics to help those in their last stages of life.

"Palliative care art therapy improves wellbeing and can be a form of distraction for people going through difficult times.

"But not just about talking, it's through the creation of things that gives them a tangible result, makes them feel like their lives mattered, and that they're leaving something behind," she said.

"Research shows that when we engage in something like that, we often notice that there's a reduction in pain and existential distress.""
