131 years, 3 months and 3 days old💥

This is our second beautiful Millers Parlour Lamp. Our first went last week to two lovely ladies from Sandgate, Jan and Janelle. This one, well one word, exceptional! Hand painted wild roses adorn the glass of the shade and font. 30 teardrop crystals encircle the shade with another 12 above the shade ready to refract the light. Can you imagine how absolutely stunning this lamp would look all lit up. An elegant example of craftsmanship. - $1300 ✌❤

The Elephant Saga and Two Wonderful People celebrating their anniversary🐘🎊

Two beautiful elephants sat either side of my entrance greeting all those that went by with their trunks up. That's right, trunks up, isn't that the only thing that one must ensure when presenting an elephant? Trunks down are bad luck, or so I've been told, I like elephants so trunks up or down didn't really concern me much, I had always assumed that in nature the majority of the time, trunks hung down, if I went by the trunk up theory, every elephant in history had had a terrible run of luck. Apparently though, this is not the only issue that one must consider. The way they face matters🫩as this beautiful lady went out of her way to pop in and tell me.
"Your elephants are facing the wrong way, you are bleeding money out of the store!".
"😲I can't face them the other way, their bums will be facing the road!",
"Well then, you should face them on an angle looking towards each other". Reluctantly, I followed her advice, obviously ignorant to the feng and shui of which way an elephants bum faces. Well guess what.....I didn't sell a bloody thing for two days, 😠so I indignantly squared those elephants right back up and decided feng shui means diddly squat! That was 8:30am Sunday morning and by 11:15am Marissa and Nathan were popping them into the back of their car as an anniversary present for Marissa who loves elephants. Can I just say, Nathan, shiny gold star award🎖️ My husband was completely bewildered when I got home and said to him "What kind of husband are you?"🤣
Happy Anniversary Guys, I hope your elephants bums eternally face the right way, I hope their trunks always reach up and I hope you enjoy each other for many, many years to come.✌❤️

One serene Sunday afternoon.......🌼🌹

He strode through the door with a look of determination, a quick "Hi" and then aimed his attention to a particular area. I returned to chatting with my son who had come in from Warwick for the day. When I looked over he was striding determinedly out the door. I looked back at my son and said "That was a bit weird, Alan normally has a pretty good look around, hope he's ok". But within moments he returned, with Melissa! A quick natter and a fair bit of laughing, I was taking a photo of them with the table they just bought. After a quick discussion about the logistics of getting this huge table back to their place, the crystal had been quickly removed, the table on trolleys, carefully lifted into a trailer and it was on its way back to Melissa and Alan's new home!
Congratulations on your new home!🎉🎊
Congratulations on your new dining setting!🎀
And congratulations for getting me cracking on a Sunday arv (normally in wind down mode🍹🤤).
Thanks guys, you two are so much fun!!! ✌🩷

When Mid Century meets Bohemian.
Elisha, on the left has bought many pieces from our store. Her style tends toward the sleek, minimalist lines of the 60s and 70s. Renee loves intricate, hand painted designs in the Persian style. And what do you get when you combine these two styles, MCM provides the structure to the space and Bohemian provides the soul. Thanks for buying my little Tibetan side table ladies, it is going to add warmth, movement and colour to your home. And if Renee didnt have her treasured cats, that peacock chair would be hers 😂✌❤️

The philosophical conversation between two avid collectors.🧐🤓

Me: "Look what I just bought Grant, a 1950s Marino Pigini Piano Accordian"
Grant: "Oh, is there much of a market for that?"
Me: "Don't know. I didn't know there would be a market for a six foot tall Elvis, yet here we are."

Grant is an absolute top bloke who has an amazing collection of all different things. Why did he want a six foot tall Elvis, because he just did and for some reason the crazy collector at Veresdale Vintage had one to sell, what are the odds? So Grant, after about 12 months, when he doesn't scare the crap out of you each time you go into the room, I hope you love him forever. Thank you for your business and thank you for being a kooky collector like myself✌🩷

Can you believe this was the bathroom in the early 1900s!🚾🚿🛁

🤯No internal plumbing!
🤯Retrieve the water from the well!
🤯Lets not even think about the chamber pot!

However, this is one of the prettiest circa 1910 washstands I've seen. The marble is in fantastic condition and those tiles🩷. This was one of the pieces that we bought up from Victoria and it was really worth it. A fabulous storage unit for any room in the house.

Chaos and the Country - The story of a serene little vintage shop that acheived mayhem yesterday.

Meet Jenni and Steve from Brisbane. They came out to the country for a local Farm Stay with family and friends to escape the city "rat race". I think our store destroyed that dream of serenity.
So the day began with me saying to my husband who came home for approximately 36 hours, that I only needed him for about two hours to unload the truckload from Victoria straight into the shop. Well we had over 200 people come through the doors, bubble wrap was flying left, right and centre, a couple of pieces didn't even make it out of the back of the truck and they were sold. At one point I was so confused I nearly sold Ken a bookcase when he only wanted the coffee dispenser on top of it. I didn't even greet anybody for a good while, lost all pleasantries and yelled from one end of the store to the other to Merv, that he would have to come back in a couple of hours so he could inspect our new haul🫨 We finished at 6:00 last night and the romantic dinner for my hubby that I hadn't seen for nearly two weeks, well that turned into KFC, two beers and snoring on the lounge. The moral to this story, there is none, it was just the funniest of days and I wanted to share it. Oh, and thanks Jenni and Steve, I hope you loved our little town and keep coming back for the "calm, chilled escape"😆✌️❤️
