Meet Myrtle Haze 🌸

For the nature nerds who stop mid-walk because “WAIT, look at those tiny flowers” and the interior girls who see a bush and think “that would look incredible with oak and linen.”

Same girl. I’m both girls.

Myrtle Haze is a soft, slightly wild tangle of tiny native blooms all dusty blush, cream, muted green and beautiful botanical chaos. From a distance she’s textural and almost abstract. Up close, there’s an unreasonable amount to look at.

For the plant people, the art people, the interior designers, and anyone who has ever come home from a walk with 47 photos of bark and flowers on their camera roll.

Happy National Wattle Day 💛

If there’s one thing I’ve consistently demonstrated, it’s a deep appreciation for Australian bush… and fuzz. 😂

Fuzzy buds. Fuzzy leaves. Fuzzy little golden balls of wattle.

Today is for our wattles, golden, gloriously fuzzy and unmistakably Australian.

Long live the fuzz. 💛🌿

I call this one Bush Witch Hair. Those glorious long gum leaves twisting, tangling and flinging themselves in every direction like completely unruly hair.

I love how much movement there is in eucalyptus foliage. leaves overlap, curl, cast shadows and generally do their own thing.

A little bit wild, a little bit witchy.

Bush Witch Hair felt like the only appropriate name!

Proof you don’t have to look very far to find art.

This started as a rock I noticed while out walking — layers of rosé, rust, chocolate and cream that looked more like an abstract painting than something sitting in the Australian landscape.

So I photographed it.

And now it’s Rosé on the Rocks 🍷

Nature really does have the best colour palette.
