It was fantastic to catch up with Chris and the team at Bentrol.

They design and manufacture switchboards, switchrooms and control systems for a variety of purposes including water treatment plants, hospitals, data centres, supermarkets, sports facilities and so much more!

The business employs over 80 people, including engineers, electricians, IT specialists and fabricators, and provides a great career pathway for apprentices from Bendigo TAFE.

It’s exciting to see the business continue to grow, from small beginnings in 2011 to running a world class operation supplying services across Australia and overseas.

Congratulations to Chris and the whole team for building a successful manufacturing business right in the heart of Bendigo!

STRUCTURED WORKPLACE LEARNING: JASPER COOPER

Year 12 VET Electrotechnology student, Jasper Cooper, recently spent a week completing Structured Workplace Learning with Bentrol in Golden Square.
Jasper was involved in a variety of practical electrical assembly tasks—including fitting doors, gear trays and control panels to switchboards, as well as helping to construct electrical boxes.
Under supervision, Jasper gained an appreciation of the precision and care required to ensure each component was correctly installed and safe to use.
Jasper said the experience gave him a strong insight into this field of the electrical industry and also the teamwork involved in producing high-quality switchboards.
The placement allowed Jasper to develop his practical skills and see, first-hand, how individual tasks contributed to a larger project.
Overall, the experience helped build confidence, and an understanding of workplace expectations in a professional trade environment.
It confirmed Jasper’s interest in pursuing an electrical apprenticeship.

Our team has once again showcased their exceptional skills in designing, engineering, assembling, and manufacturing a 5000A CUBIC switchboard along with a containerised switchroom, which is 1 of 5 for a valued new customer.
Special thanks to our major suppliers NHP Electrical Engineering Products, Schneider Electric, Fuseco, Port Shipping Containers and Mint Signs for supplying all the required components, and to Central Victorian Mobile Cranes for their efficient transportation services.

We want to say a big thanks to Central Victorian Mobile Cranes for helping us transport our 10-meter-long custom switchboard for Adx Electrical. It's on its way to a water treatment plant down on Victoria's south coast, where it'll help supply clean drinking water to many homes.

They only get bigger, with the completion of our largest custom switchboard to date for Adx Electrical! This 10-metre-long motor control centre is heading to a water treatment plant along the south coast of Victoria and will help provide potable drinking water to many homes.

A few thousand meters of cable, 1.2 tonne of aluminium and hundreds of hours in engineering, fabrication and electrical fit-out, this has been an absolutely massive project to work on. Thanks to Schneider Electric for contributing to the completion of this mammoth switchboard.

Wrapped up these two fully withdrawable CUBIC motor control centres last week, destined for the Snowy Hydro 2.0 site. The customer was extremely happy to receive these panels earlier than planned with the builds completed in under 12 weeks. These two MCCs were accompanied by multiple other switchboards including remote I/O panels, rectifiers, DBs and local control stations.



A massive thank you to NHP Electrical Engineering Products and Schneider Electric for their help in supplying all components in time and to our team for pulling some big days to get this job over the line.

After several refinements, this standalone 316 grade stainless steel switchboard is engineered and manufactured for installation in a beverage factory, where it will undergo daily wash-down procedures. The purpose built food grade enclosure is built by our in-house fabrication team with a brushed finish as per customer request.

Recently had the team from Barwon Water & Barwon Asset Solutions in our shed completing an in depth factory test on an SPS switchboard prior to delivery. All went without a hitch and the switchboard is soon heading straight to site for install!
