This eBook has been created with Aboriginal artist Olivia Wheway to help celebrate NAIDOC Week. It includes fun craft activities inspired by books published by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation!

The ILF supports Communities to write and illustrate their stories in the language of their choice, and works to supply culturally relevant books to remote Communities across Australia.

Our eBook is filled with heaps of fun step-by-step tutorials and printable templates, like:
🐊 Counting Crocodile Magnet, inspired by “Counting Crocodiles” by Bulla Camp Primary School.
🪶 Dancing Emu Mask, inspired by “Can You Dance?" written by Sally Morgan, illustrated by Kathy Arbon.
🔦 Indigenous Symbol Projector, inspired by “The Moon Story” by Marshia Cook.
☀️ Hand Seasons Calendar Posters, inspired by “Country Tells Us When...” by Tsheena Cooper, Mary Dann, Dalisa Pigram-Ross and Sheree Ford.

Take a look behind the scenes with Kez as she designed her 2026 Sorry Day poster!
➡️ Comment LINK to download the free poster template.

Kerri-Ann explains the meaning behind her artwork:
“National Sorry Day is a time when we remember the Stolen Generations. We look back with respect, so we can live in the now and help create a better future. This artwork honours their strength, stories, and culture, and reminds us to go “All In” and to listen, to learn, and to walk together with kindness and care.”

The illustration represents three gathering circles, Past, Present and Future. Hands reach at different lengths to show their level of knowledge. An Emu track is on their wrist - You find emu tracks in Wonnarua Country and are used for direction. The arms are moving forward and reaching toward the connected Gathering circles, reaching to go all in.

Don't ask us how many times we've watched this... we're just a little starstruck 🤩

Kerri-Ann explains the inspiration for her artwork:
‘ALL IN’ means everyone gets involved.

“It’s about learning the truth, standing up for fairness, and showing respect for Aboriginal people every day. It also reminds us that we’re connected to our past, our present, and our future, just like the stories from the Dreaming and the way Country holds our memories. Reconciliation grows stronger when we all care for each other and for the land, and when we choose actions that help build a better future for everyone.

Connecting Gathering symbols flowing through an image of Australia shows our unstoppable need for growth and learning, surrounded by Country and culture. It reminds us that we’re linked to the past, present, and future. When we go ‘ALL IN’, we honour those connections and help build a stronger, fairer future for everyone.”
