A quick question for my fellow traveling crafters: When you head overseas and walk into a gorgeous local yarn shop, why are you hunting down 100% Merino? 🌏🐑

I see people shocked by the price tags, but remember Australia actually produces about 75% of the world’s Merino wool. Once you factor in it being exported, processed, hit with shipping fees, and multiplied by exchange rates, our homegrown staple becomes a major luxury import over there!

Next time you’re abroad, skip the Aussie fleece and ask the shopkeeper for something local to *them*. Treat yourself to some local breeds, local hand-dyes, or regional blends you can’t get back home. Your wallet (and your stash) will thank you! ✈️🧶
