Today we’re featuring this creative Union Jack make-over by Stacey of in Orange, NSW.

A simple but incredibly effective transformation, Stacey has repurposed this wooden crate to create an eye-catching feature piece with a rustic feel.

With no need to mix custom paint hues and by selecting a two-colour flag design, this was the perfect choice for a quick and effective Chalk Paint ® project. Leaving the original wood to shine through, Stacey created the Union Jack image on the front of the crate using Chalk Paint® in Emperors Silk and Napoleonic Blue. To seal the piece, Stacey used Dark Chalk Paint® Wax, which not only protects her wonderful work for years to come but has added an incredible aged effect that also highlights the texture of the underlying wood.

Stacey purchased her Chalk Paint® supplies from vintage2modern_windsor, in Windsor, NSW, who stock the full Annie Sloan range.

This Wednesday we’re featuring these eye-catching, colourful drawers by Stacey aka The Upcycle Bandwagon, based in Orange, NSW.

Using several Chalk Paint® shades by Annie Sloan, Stacey was able to achieve a striking colour block effect. Chalk Paint® in Oxford Navy acts as a grounding shade to allow Scandinavian Pink, Barcelona Orange, and a hint of Amsterdam Green pop and make this piece a jaw-dropping focal point. Stacey then finished this incredible up-cycle with two coats of Clear Chalk Paint® Wax to protect it from the general wear and tear of being well loved and used for years to come.

We absolutely love how Stacey has played with colour in transforming these drawers and highlighted the two complimentary colours, Barcelona Orange and Oxford Navy, using a border of Scandinavian Pink. With blue and orange hues being opposites on the colour wheel, Stacey has applied colour theory to this project perfectly and brought warmth and new life to this transformation using the perfect combination of complimentary colours.

Stacey purchased her Chalk Paint® and Waxes for this project from vintage2modern_windsor in Windsor, NSW, who stock the full Annie Sloan range.
