Beautiful big custom 8 seater dining table incoming, in Australian Spotted Gum (Corymbia maculata) Sptted gum is a beautiful timber which can produce fiddleback grain, and is highly durable. The Spotted Gum takes 40+ years to grow, and harvesting is regulated therefore this timber is highly valued. Watch this space ..

38 lumens is the sweet spot for bar lighting.

A lumen measures the total amount of visible light emitted by a source, indicating its brightness. A higher lumen count means a brighter light, while a lower count means a dimmer one.

How do lumens impact our experience of hospitality spaces?

The magic number is 38: 38 lumens is extremely dim, similar to a small nightlight or the light produced by a candle.

Why is this important to know?

Patrons have been found to experience time differently in spaces with lower lighting, spending more time, feeling less self monitoring and drinking more. The magic little number 38 can have big impacts on the experience of your hospitality spaces

Materials Selection.
Otherwise known as as the sexy or magic part of the interior design process.

Overall we spend the least amount of time in this phase compared to intensive planning and technical documentation phases, but it doesn’t mean it is less important.

How do we choose materials and finishes?
1) What is the Story we are Telling ( how should a space feel; lighting, ambience, colour, texture),
2) Who are the Main Characters (who will use the space),
3) How Should Materials Perform (how is the space going to be used, heavy use, light use, pets)
4) What Technical Codes need Consisering (fire resistance ratings, slip resistance, anti static finishes)

The magic exists in pulling all these threads together to weave a cohesive narrative that effortlessly supports the interior architecture and is also fit for purpose.
