Sue and her daughter Tamsin took over ownership in 2007 and with their team intend to continue providing an interesting, exciting and friendly "Patchwork Experience". We strived to provide the eager quilter and crafty person with a large range of products from which to choose. We have over 7000 bolts of fabric to choose from, a large array of patterns, kits and quilting notions which are spread out over 3 large rooms. We are located 1 1/2 hours south of Sydney, Australia.

This whole build has definitely added to my knowledge. Sorry not an overly interesting image but lots of internal works and essential final decisions are occurring at the moment.

Morris Emporium will be one of the new ranges we are releasing when we turn our printing machinery back on in our new location. But before we moved I did manage to get some fat quarter packs printed. William Morris designs are timeless and we are very excited for this new range as we are able to experiment and release brand new colour ways exclusive to Stroud Street Textiles.

There are only be fat quarter packs available to start with, yardage will be printed soon. So here is a taste of some of the designs from this new range. Very limited stock is available.
These fabric have been printed by Stroud Street Textiles here in the Southern Highlands of NSW Australia. Each pack contains 4 fat quarters and are $30 each.

We have mentioned several times about the new machinery we are getting. Part of the reason for the new property is that we had out grown Berrima Shop site.

We are very excited for our brand new digital printing machine that will be joining our other printers - The Monna Lisa by Epson. This machine is here in Australia and I have been privilege of operating it firsthand and can’t wait for it to be delivered to us very soon. It prints at an incredible speed with a stunning quailty.

The team from Epson have already been to our new property for a site visit and the machine location in the building has been decided. Our building team have heard so much about this machine from me that I think there will be many demonstrations for them that will occur. Anyway we can’t wait till it arrives and we can start printing once again.

Sue and I (Tamsin) would like to express our appreciation for everyones ongoing support as we navigate a remarkably stressful period. It has included not only building a new property, selling our Berrima location, packing, moving, working temporarily from a storage unit, but also managing an unforeseen stressful situation that occurred in August and continued to early September that was beyond our control and not of our making; fortunately, that hurdle is now behind us, and while we keep certain private business matters under wraps, we love sharing major milestones like our new build so you can feel truly connected to our journey.

Keeping secrets is genuinely tough, especially when it involves exciting news. Staying quiet for months about purchasing our new property was a massive challenge, but necessary while navigating the lengthy planning process, a DA that needed to be activated, council approval delays, and assembling our building team. Finally sharing this milestone was and is a huge relief.

While we won't broadcast every business decision, our company is constantly evolving. The next stage of our journey isn't rigidly set out—the pandemic proved how vital it is for businesses to remain flexible and adapt on the fly. What we can promise is that we have so many projects in the pipeline, it is going to be one wild ride!

We have had a large amount of new followers to our pages and we know it can be a bit confusing that we frequently cross post between Berrima Patchwork and Stroud Street Textiles. We want to explain to you why.

Berrima Patchwork is our retail patchwork and quilting business. We are a mother daughter team - Sue and Tamsin and we have owned the business for 19 years. Available for purchase on our website are all things patchwork and quilting including fabric, kits, notions and more. All Stroud Street Textiles products are available from Berrima Patchwork. Berrima Patchwork hosts two sewing retreats each year (in January and June) called Stitching in the Highlands.

Who is Stroud Street Textiles?
It is our textile printing company. Also owned by Sue and Tamsin and was established in 2021. We digitally print fabric right here in the Southern Highlands, NSW and are the only dedicated printer for patchwork fabric in Australia. This is our wholesale business and we sell to other retailers, not direct to the public. You will notice our kits and patterns which we have previously created under the brand of Berrima Design are now being rebranded and transitioned to come under the Stroud Street Textiles.

The response to us printing textiles here in Australia has been overwhelming and to keep up with demand we have had to expand Stroud Street Textiles. The purchase of new machinery meant we outgrew our property at Berrima as it could not accommodate the equipment and this is the reason for the building of our brand new property in Bowral. The new property is twice the size of the Berrima shop and we can’t wait to move in.

I might have turned Sue’s backyard into a temporary nursery. These plants will hang out there for the time being and then will finally be planted at our new premises. Lots of natives and flowering plants as we want to attract the natives birds, bees, insects and more. Plus we want it look and smell pretty!
