Today’s adventure…
Jumped onboard a vintage steam train at Sale train station and took a step back in time for an hours run out to Munro and back via Stratford, passing high over the Avon River. We were able to move freely between the carriages so sat in First Class, Second Class & Economy (all far superior to modern trains in my opinion!), shopped at the souvenir kiosk and reluctantly decided it was a bit too early for a cider from the refreshment carriage. Marvelled at the intricate carriage details, from pressed tin ceilings, beautiful timber fixtures and gorgeous signs & hardware that make these vintage trains so evocative to travel in.
A fabulous morning out thanks to the hard work & dedication by
I believe there are still some tickets available for this afternoon & tomorrow if you’re quick and there is a run back to Melbourne on Monday. A great way to experience the golden age of travel

John Muir, never a truer word written. My favourite thing to do is to wander amongst the trees, letting my mind become still. Bonus if there are sunbeams slanting through highlighting the magic of the Forest Floor. 🌲✨

It’s been a pretty sedate week here, busy with all the general day to day life things. As always I look for joy in the little things. This week it’s was found in cold, misty mornings watching the Sun set the Autumn leaves ablaze, cold drizzly days spent snuggled on the couch with wee Fen, snuggles with my grand niece and playing with my grand nephew, receiving a hand knitted beanie in the post from my Mum, the first fairy mushrooms appearing in the Forest, and driving home from work on Friday night, a beautiful pink sky framing the mountains, listening to
Fridays are always pretty hectic. I race around in the morning, taking my son to the gym & giving the dogs a run, before heading off to work. I do the cleaning at my husbands workshop. It’s loud and dirty, and cleaning is not my preferred occupation, but there is always an up side, and on Friday’s it’s the music. The boys always have it playing full roar in the workshop, anything from country to classic rock or metal. I like most of it (except death metal šŸ™‰). Afterwards I do the weekly grocery shop and shout out to Maffra for always playing great music. It certainly helps add a bit of joy to a mundane task. By the time I’m heading home on Friday night, I’ve usually got the music cranked and I’m feeling pretty good so I thought I’d try something out. Let’s start a Feelgood Friday playlist. Put your favourite feel good song in the comments and if we get enough I’ll do a poll, and each Friday I’ll share a video of my drive home playing the Feel Good Friday song of the week. Can’t wait to see what everyone listens to! šŸŽ¶ 😃

Everybody meet the newest member of our pack. Fenrir Greyback (Fen for short) When I rashly promised my son late last year that he could get a pup of his own, I didn’t think we would have one so soon. He initially wanted a Husky but I didn’t think that breed would suit us so I did some research and found the Swedish Vallhund. The breed seemed perfect for us but I’d never actually met one so I reached out to a local breeder who was a mine of information. Long story short when she had a pup available earlier this year she messaged me to see if we were interested, and how could we not be! He’s the most adorable little fella, very laid back, and he adores Jed already. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of Fen in the future. Just for the record, Winnie is obsessed with him, Fergus is in denial and is quite worried he’s going to be replaced, and old Milly couldn’t care less as long as he stays off her bed, and she’d very much like his toy bee 🤭)
