I saw these in Darwin, K ebabs and not to mention the poor choice of colour. The dark green and black just don't have enough contrast.
I have an obsession with poor word and letter spacing "KARAMABAKERY": when I was an apprentice many years ago, I was always told that you should have about the width of a letter between words. I'm not sure why they didn't split this into two lines of text, it would have made better use of the space.

I can't say I've seen any outstanding sign work so far in Vancouver. The signs on the horse buggy is actually a digital print, all they've photographed the handwritten work from who knows when and had it printed. At least it keeps the original look.
I hate the way they've done the design on the Police car, when you see them driving down there road you just can't read it, maybe the designer was colourblind

I had these dropped off for repair/restoration. Australian sign history being preserved is how I see it.
You can see the paper waterslide method was used for the Minchinbury sign, it's not a method I had ever seen until a visit to the trade school at Ultimo in Sydney many years ago. As far as I know it was never taught in Victoria or any of these other states.
The Tooheys mirror needs the gold leaf redone 😳
