It is with mixed emotions I must share some difficult news with you, Sew GentleEra will be closing its doors early this year. Our last day of trading will be 27th March.

This little shop has been a part of the fabric of our town for many decades, and it has been my absolute privilege & joy to carry it forward for the last 11 years, following on from the wonderful legacy built by the previous owner over many years before me. What began before my time has grown into much more than just a store. It has been a place of creativity, kindness and community.

Serving the people of this beautiful town, and those from further afield, has truly been a dream come true for me. I am endlessly grateful for every stitch, every shared dream, every laugh, and every heartfelt conversation. Discovering, and sharing, a love of stitching with you all has meant more to me than I can properly put into words, and I feel truly blessed to have your friendship.

Thank you to my dear family, and to my small, amazing team of staff who have worked beside me these past 11 years. Your support, care, creativity and dedication have meant so much to me over the years. I couldn’t have done it without you.

While this chapter is coming to an end, I hope we can make these final months together a meaningful and celebratory farewell. Please join us for our FINAL FAREWELL SALE running from Monday 12th January to our final day on 27th March 2026. There will be significant discounts on EVERYTHING! All stock - yarn, fabric, threads, notions, and shop fittings and some display items, and many quilts for sale too!

More than anything, I would love you to pop in, say hello and reminisce, and help me honour the many years this shop has been woven and stitched into the fabric of this town. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for your support, loyalty, and friendship over the years. Together, let’s make these last few months special ###
