As the end of the year is wrapping up, I wanted to share a memorable event that I had this year.

The Deaf Ecosystem Summit in Sydney organised by and - this event was Deaf led, organised by deaf people for Deaf people. I had the amazing opportunity to meet my mentor, Sian again who is a deaf interior designer based in Australia. I was starstruck when I met Richard Dougherty who is a deaf architect from Ireland but is based in America. It is rare to have deaf people that work in the design career field, especially as an interior designer and an architect. I had the privilege of watching Richard talk about deaf eyes, deaf space, deaf lens and Richard was nice enough to share project examples of the work he’s done/worked on. This got me so inspired and reminded me why I wanted to be an interior designer.
