In exciting news, we’re now looking at offering our beautiful flowers wholesale to florists 🤗💐
We’re a boutique flower farm growing old fashioned, heirloom flower varieties that can be harder to source. All our flowers are grown out in the open field and we only use bee friendly grow methods 🐝🌸
Flowers will be pick up from the farm only and on an ‘as available’ basis which may change week to week.

Another glorious morning spent amongst the flowers with the lovely

It was wonderful to catch up with Rach talking everything floral, and the talented flower farm team keeping the garden beds looking absolutely 👌 We picked a gorgeous selection of seasonal blooms ✂️

D̾a̾n̾g̾e̾r̾o̾u̾s̾ ̾D̾e̾s̾i̾g̾n̾ - The dangers of Cake Florals!!
Which flowers are the safest?
The answer is twofold. First, no flower is safe to eat or use on or near food products unless it has been organically grown. This does not mean everyone can eat them. Just as with certain foods, some people may be allergic or intolerant.

As a general rule, it is not recommended that flowers that are grown for florists are used directly on a cake in any case, poisonous or not.

Secondly, there are other concerns to consider like pollen and allergies, dyes, chemicals and preservatives (especially with everlasting dried flowers), unclean tools and work preparation stations, or the bacteria prone buckets those flowers were stored in prior to purchase! 🦠

It’s important to educate yourself on the harmful effects poisonous flowers can have.

To help you get a clearer idea of which flowers are the ones to watch out for, I've compiled a list of poisonous flowers attached here.

Save the list and keep on hand for consultations with vendors or clients asking for fresh florals for their cakes or grazing platters.

A trending style, particularly for the hobby stylist or amateur cake decorator, is the Gypsophila en masse design!!

Yikes! Especially bad when stems are poked directly into the cake!🤦‍♀️

Baby's Breath and other Gypsophila species plants contain gyposenin, a saponin, which may cause severe irritation to the gastrointestinal tract following ingestion.

BUT - fear not - there is actually a preffered way to place florals on cakes.

Huge shout out to the talented Julia from who submitted a beautiful floral tribute this week for FEMMES 2022 Floral series.

The inaugural floral series is dedicated to culturally, politically, and historically significant women throughout the ages. Some household names, and some lesser-known, these are women who have had a profound impact on the world we know today.

We have been working on strategies and deciding on the best mechanics to approach this large scale floral installation. This was a free installation,so that's an achievement in itself.

Julia works tirelessly and throws her whole self into her work. I'm so impressed by her work ethic and her approach to
She created a fresh floral celebration of a remarkable woman - Dr Evelyn Scott, and I think she did a fabulous job.

This is an amazing achievement for any floral designer, and there is an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment even participating in something of this calibre.

Can you do a better price?
That's way more than I imagined!!
I can get these same flowers cheaper down the road!

Before you get deeply offended - have you ever considered perhaps this client doesn't understand the value of flowers?

PRICE IS A REFLECTION OF VALUE.

Value is perceived as 2 things:

• When the value is higher than the cost -
Wow! That's a GREAT price!😃

• When the cost outweighs the potential value - Whoahh!! That's TOO expensive!😟

Customers think this way because of preconceived notions. Some understand the true value and others don't.

It's that simple.

Don't defend yourself.
Don't be offended.
It's not about you.

It could be one or more of the following:
✔ Price shopping
✔ Genuinely can't afford you
✔ Indecisive and not ready to buy
✔ Loyalty to another brand

Wanting is a powerful motivator though.

Find out what is most important to your clients and shoppers and identify their desires.

If you can tap into the buyer’s wants, then price is less of an issue. Satisfied, loyal, and returning customers are less focused on price.

They understand your value, they know what to expect and appreciate your brand and the beautiful designs you offer.

Those who understand your value are ultimately your ideal customer.

Watching a client finally see their beautiful floral creation come to life is the most favourite part of my job

Today I had another fantastic floral session with the talented Sam Canungra.

In our professional development
session today, we covered the best practices and techniques used for fully wired wedding bouquets.


If you've had your hand at wiring one of these bad boys, you'll appreciate how much time and skill is involved.

A detailed roadmap is essential to design and we certainly had that covered today ( scroll to see image)

Luckily Sam is a wiring wizard and mastered this gorgeous creation.

It also helped that there was adequate caffeine ( Special thanks to ) and good jokes a plenty, another essential element to practical floristry sessions

It's oh so quiet 🤫
