SOLD!

I absolutely love the colours in this Mango platter. Am I the only one who sees a beach landscape? The sea to the right washing up onto the beach, reaching to the horizon and the cloudy sky above? No? Just me then...

I think this is the last piece of Mango in my stash. The tree was removed from a backyard in Redcliffe a few years ago and I've been nibbling my way through it ever since. Linseed Oil and beeswax finish so nice and friendly.

Two's company they say, and when the two are as nice as this pair you'd be in good company.

A matching pair, ballpoint pen and a 2mm mechanical pencil, both done in Red Mallee Burl. These have a nice heft and feel about them. The pen uses a Parker refill and the pencil normal 2mm leads.

These would make excellent gifts, either individually or as a pair.

A "Live Edge" bowl takes it's form from the tree trunk or branch it is cut from. They're something of a challenge.

This one is Camphor Laurel (yes, it's a w**d but it's a very pretty w**d). About 24 cm by about 10cm. It's a nice solid piece with a food safe coating.

It's not perfect but it is pretty.

Bring me some wood and we'll see what we can come up with.

These two pens have been made as a gift for the daughters of my parent's neighbour who passed away lately. The house has been sold and is being renovated so we snapped up a couple of bits of wood and now we have a long lasting memory.

Custom pens are pretty much what I do. Every one is different.

Not everything long and round has to be a pen, sometimes they're sharp and pointy!

Now these aren't wooden points so no use against those pesky vampires, but they would make quick work of that seam you'd sewed which just went all wonky.

Various woods, (from the top) Rosewood, Old Baseball Bat, Camphor Laurel, and Black Bean. Each has a large and a small ripper, plus a single spike. The points can be reversed into the handle for safe travel.

Now, these are already spoken for but I have more on the way.

And now for something really nice. A quality fountain pen wrapped up in a beautiful piece of ebony. The chrome silver sparkles next to some of the blackest wood you will find.

The ebony comes from an old parallel or "rolling rule" made by Johann Faber (yes, that Faber family) sometime in the late 1800s and so this wood was cut over one hundred years ago. Johann made pencils and pens so I don't think he'd complain about this bit of recycling.

These pens have a lovely balance, bringing a bit of the old school charm to your day to day writing or they make excellent gifts to commemorate that special event or time (presentation boxes available on request).

But as usual, there's more where that came from.

More fancy pens...

This one started out as a casting of tiny seashells in green resin. I decided to highlight the resin with some Gabon Ebony in the ends. Makes for a unique frame to what is a truly attractive piece.

This one is a slightly more practical rollerball pen, smooth writing, with no mess. Another excellent gift piece.
