There is no “best” speaker, but this upgraded Modesty with beryllium tweeter must be one of the best in Australia. March Audio have a fine example of a bookshelf/stand mount speaker that also uses this tweeter. Both models must be on your list if you want minimal compromises.

Just put this one together to see if we can make a cheap driver sound good. Also experimenting with techniques to clean up the enclosure finish.
Overall not happy with aesthetics but impressed with the sound. I can see how products selling for 3-4K are made with cheap drivers. They can sound ok.
For me, the labour cost is by far the largest cost and so I won’t compete with cheap products on the market.
HOWEVER... Come in for a demo of these, then listen to some of my high end gear! For under $6k our products compete, and better, most out there for $30,000. Happy for you to bring in your $30k set and do A/B comparison too - bring your buddies.
