Projects on the back burner: Episode 1- making a schoolwork and iPad charging area. The rest of the house is a disaster but at least this corner is set up to function well. I always thought my house didn’t have space for something like this but after MONTHS of thinking I realised if I moved around some furniture I could make something that works, and that makes me happy. This whole project took about 3 hours. Why did I wait so long?

I’ve got schoolwork and papers and iPads and chargers everywhere and I’m tired of it! Come thrifting with me while I work on a solution to make a dedicated schoolwork drop zone.

Brown and gold and growing old party is done and dusted but I still have the gold foil fringe randomly in my garden. Some other things I did but didn’t capture:
- I have heaps of white cloth bunting that I bought 9 years ago and use at every party, it’s so versatile and makes a big impact. This lined the walkway overhead as people walked in
- I made letters out of butter using an ice mold that spelled out HOPPO and 40 but they broke before the party started, so never got photos.
- I also made a candle out of butter, garlic and rosemary that as it melts you’re meant to dip crusty bread into it. But I never lit it so it lives to see another day.
