The Reveal - Claybourne House

It is with these two rooms the reveal series draws to a close.

The main bathroom at Claybourne House was designed to feel like a retreat that earns its keep every single day. That olive wave tile, the same one that stopped you in the ensuite, returns here with even more presence, floor to ceiling, anchoring a space that moves between bold and serene without missing a step.

A freestanding bath on a terrazzo like plinth. A floor-mounted brushed nickel tap. A forged iron side table just large enough for a glass and a book. These aren’t styling choices, they’re deliberate decisions about how a room should make you feel at the end of a long day.

And then the laundry opens to the garden and reminds you that considered design doesn’t stop at the glamorous rooms. Warm timber cabinetry. A long white benchtop. Textured, organic patterned tiles underfoot carrying the language of the whole home through to its most practical corner.

This is Claybourne House in full. A home where every room, from the entrance to the laundry, was held to exactly the same standard.

The Reveal — Claybourne House. The Hallway & Sales Office.

Before a home is built, it is sold. And before it is sold, it has to be felt. This hallway was designed to do exactly that, to slow you down, to let the artwork speak, to give the eye somewhere considered to rest before the rooms reveal themselves. The wainscotting runs the length of it, quietly anchoring the space. The artwork by Krystal Bradford stops you along the way and at the end of it, as it should.

From there, the Arden Vale Homes sales office unfolds and it tells its own story entirely. Thirty years of residential building. Hundreds of families. Homes across Southern Downs, Queensland. Every award on that wall represents a standard held, a decision made well, a client who received exactly what was promised.

We were asked to design a space that honoured that legacy without museumifying it. A room where you could sit across the table, talk through your dream home and feel entirely confident in who you were trusting to build it. The dark ebonised table. The tan leather chairs with their brass frames. The floor-to-ceiling joinery in a muddy green. The coffee station ready and waiting. This is a room that works as hard as the people in it.

The Reveal — Claybourne House. The Living Spaces.
A home earns its character in the rooms you actually live in.

In Claybourne House, the living and dining spaces were designed to feel effortless, layered without being loud, considered without being precious. Linen that pools softly. Timbers that have lived a little. A palette that breathes. The reclaimed timber frames connect the rooms the way a good conversation does, one leads naturally into the next, each with something worth staying for.

And then there’s the bar cart. Every home deserves a moment of personality, something that makes you smile before you’ve even poured a drink. Here it sits, stocked and ready beneath a smokey glass sconce doing exactly what it was always meant to do. Should all homes have a bar cart? Yes or no?

This is Claybourne House. Rooms designed for the life inside them.

Claybourne House is a study in quiet confidence, where reclaimed timber meets considered restraint and every room earns its place. The entrance sets the tone before a word is spoken. The study settles into itself like a well worn leather chair. Nothing is accidental. Nothing is loud.

Designed as the new Residential Atelier for Arden Vale Homes, Claybourne House is a home that understands the difference between decoration and design.

A project we have been holding close - and now we’re finally ready to share it. 🤍

This residential exteriors is everything we love about what we do: warmth, intention and spaces that feel deeply, genuinely like home.

We selected every detail with care, from the materiality and colours to the way they sat within the landscape. We couldn’t be more proud of how this one came together.
