Ryan'o Designs One off pieces bringing the beauty of timber to life for you to enjoy for many years. Each piece I make is unique, and not one is exactly the same as another.

I am a carpenter of 30 years who "got off the tools'' when covid started, when I started a new job I found it was lacking a creative outlet that I was so used to having doing renovations. I have always wanted to have a workshop at my house and thought it would one day happen when I retired, then in 2021 I bought a lathe thinking why wait until I retire. Well that started something, I have always

been a "wood sniffer'' (someone who loves working with wood) but woodturning has totally stolen my attention, I love seeing the bowl take shape before my eyes and when it is time to apply the finish, well, that's one of my favorite things watching the grain come out for all to see. When I start a project whether it is a platter or bowl, I have an idea of what I want to create but I let the wood tell me as it is spinning on my lathe while I'm listening to music.
