It’s hard to know what audiovisual brings to a venue until you experience it. So we’ve put together a day out around Brisbane to experience Ampd for yourself.

From your morning workout to your last round, each stop shows how differently AV can serve a space. A workout studio needs energy. A dining room needs atmosphere without making conversation hard work. A listening lounge puts the music front and centre.

The warehouse bench makes a pretty good breakfast table 🍳

Getting the crew together for breakfast at Ampd HQ is a bit of a tradition. Bacon and egg burgers, a morning catch-up and a chance to spend some time together before the day gets moving.

What does it take to give a gym this size its own atmosphere in every room?

At Fitness Cartel Toowoomba, our work stretched from the Free Weights and Cardio Floor to the Cycle, Group Fitness and Pilates Studios, through Reception and into the Wellness Areas. Each space called for its own approach to sound, visuals, lighting and control.

In the Cycle Studio, we installed 80 metres of ceiling LED pixel strip with 20 programmed lighting looks, alongside a 150-inch projection screen and dedicated sound system. Light, sound and virtual class playback come together through a podium-mounted iPad, giving instructors control throughout each session.

The Group Fitness Studio combines projection for virtual classes and dedicated audio, with our team integrating the room’s feature lighting into in-room iPad control. In the Pilates Studio, eight ceiling speakers, an 85-inch display and virtual class playback support both instructor-led and on-screen sessions.

Across the wider club, zoned audio allows staff to manage sound levels for different areas, while commercial displays carry club information, music videos and entertainment throughout the venue.

A central Q-SYS audio and control system connects the entire system, giving Reception control of the wider club while instructors manage their own rooms.

Our AV installation gives each space the flexibility to establish its own atmosphere while maintaining that consistent Fitness Cartel experience throughout the venue.

Starting a call shouldn’t mean figuring out the tech all over again. Your meeting room should be ready when you are.

For Hutchinson Builders boardroom, we brought the meeting controls together on one touch panel, giving the team a central place to start calls, share presentations and adjust audio and video.

Instead of juggling remotes or switching between devices, they can manage everything quickly and easily from a single interface.

The screens, camera and audio are the visible parts of the setup. Bringing them together in a way that’s straightforward and intuitive to use is what makes the room work day to day.

For Eden Brewhouse, we installed suspended back-to-back 86"" LCD displays that deliver clear sightlines across the outdoor dining area while preserving the open feel of the space. Live sport, menus, promotions and event information are always visible without cluttering the venue or interrupting the design.

It gives Eden Brewhouse the coverage they need, exactly where guests need it, without sacrificing the open character of the space.

A modern tavern changes by the hour, and its biggest screen has to change with it.

The Durack Tavern already had an LED wall giving their customers a huge canvas for sport, Keno and major events. But this project wasn't about introducing that experience, it was about delivering the next generation of it.

We decommissioned and removed the existing display before installing and commissioning a brand new LED wall as one of the venue's centrepieces.

Whether it's one massive screen for a packed fight night, or multiple layouts showing live sport, Keno and other venue content, the new display adapts to the way the venue trades throughout the day.

Because a modern tavern serves more than one crowd. It's families over lunch, punters through the afternoon, sports crowds at night, and trivia, live music and events throughout the week, and one display has to hold up across all of it.

Most customers will never notice where the speakers are. That’s the point.

They don’t walk out saying, “Great coverage pattern.” They say, “That place had a good vibe.” And that feeling doesn’t happen accidentally.

Owner A waits until the fit-out is finished, then asks where the speakers can go. By that stage, the answer is usually wherever there’s space left.

So the sound gets squeezed into the room. One table gets blasted. Another table gets nothing. Staff spend the night nudging the volume up and down, trying to fix a problem that was built into the space.

Owner B thinks about sound before the first wall goes up.

Speaker locations are planned around the room, not leftover wall space. Cabling disappears into the build. Acoustic issues can be picked up before the finishes are locked in. Zones are mapped to how the venue actually works, from dining to bar to outdoor areas to private spaces.

The result isn’t just “better audio.” It’s a space people can settle into.

A room where conversation feels easy. Where the music supports the atmosphere instead of fighting it. Where the space feels considered, even if customers can’t explain why.

And that matters, because research into restaurant environments has shown that atmosphere, noise levels, and sound all influence dwell time, spend per customer, pace and turnover, product choice, and how people experience a venue.

Owner B gets more repeat customers because they're designing the feeling people come back for.
