I’m so excited to plan this years Finding a ColourPuff Word photo shoot 2026! These shoots are an archive and help me document who is helping build the world with me I’m so blessed to have such a beautiful creative family of artists who believe in me !

It was such a delight to meet and also a delight to get my studio back to the magical wonderland that it is ! If you watched till the end I just want you to know how much I appreciate your time and interest in my art. I’m slowly walking out of burnout and finding my confidence again online has taken me a while 🩷🩷

Don’t give me sense
Give me nonsense
The older I get the less I know
The better my art is the more I find I need to learn
When I think I’ve seen the prettiest sunset
Tomorrow comes
When I make sense of it
Tomorrow will put a blender to it
Meeting Christian Hull makes sense but no sense
Baby ColourPuff Girl watched his content for years
A comfort watch when I couldn’t sleep
Then one day we are laughing in my art studio
Life is forever surprising and total nonsense
Keep me on my toes
As soon as I figure out
I wake up wiser and more knowing
And I have to make sense of it all again

I made this piece for to wear at their Brisbane show last year ! It was such a pleasure to meet them and also absolute queen ! Fun fact I bought a harp because of how dreamy her music is ! I had about 2 weeks to make the dress and I was lucky enough to be put up by in her amazing Maleny home and for a week and a half we kept each other company while making art it was such a beautiful time ! I am looking forward to more collaborations in the future I am excited to be starting a new chapter refreshed and ready to make wearable art again .

Meanjin based multidisciplinary artist, Bella Cameron, also known as ColourPuff Girl, has been exploring fibre arts for five years. In the short amount of time Bella has been crocheting she has made her mark in the wearable art community taking the supreme title at the Australian Wearable arts festival in 2023 and 2024. Coming off back to back wins she has already made custom wearables for Alok Menon and has grand plans to take over the world with her outrageous crochet. Bella believes so deeply that crochet can be anything you dream it to be! Learn from her, how she channels colour, engineering and whimsy into iconic crochet wearable art.

To make this iconic crochet cowboy hat we start by going back to the humble granny square. Bella will teach you her favourite square and swatches she likes to use for cowboy hats! Not only will you learn the swatches and squares but Bella will also teach you how to assemble the cowboy hat and mould it with starches / glue.
