This vintage ceramic planter holds significant sentimental value, having been passed down through generations - from grandmother to mother, and now to daughter. The granddaughter, representing the fourth generation, will become its custodian in the future. Recently, the young mother approached me in distress after an unfortunate accident resulted in the planter being shattered into pieces. She sought my assistance in restoring this family heirloom. The time and care I devoted to its restoration proved to be a meaningful endeavor; it was not merely a task, but a heartfelt mission to reconnect the family’s legacy.

Happy Chinese New Year! Wishing you a happy and prosperous year of the golden horse 🐎. Pineapple is a symbol of prosperity, wealth, and good luck during Chinese New Year. Its name "ong lai" 旺來 in Hokanese, sounds like "fortune comes". It is used as a gift for attracting abundance....We are enjoying our homegrown sweet pineapples 🍍, picking ripen fruit quickly to beat wildlife to the harvest is a bit of a challenge, luckily we still have plenty to share with friends..... 🐴
