WELCOME TO ROOSTER MONTH
In Chinese Metaphysics, August through October is the Season of Metal — autumn, the season of harvest, contraction, refinement and letting go.

And now, as we enter the Rooster Month, we arrive at the peak of Metal energy.

Just as the trees shed their leaves and draw their energy inward, Metal invites us to simplify, refine and release. It is a time to create clearer boundaries, complete what is unfinished and let go of what has served its purpose.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Metal is associated with the Lungs and Large Intestine and with the emotions of grief and sadness. When Metal becomes excessive, we can become melancholic, overly rigid, critical, withdrawn or stuck in what has been.

During the Season of Metal, it can be helpful to introduce the Fire Element to create balance.

Choose warming, cooked foods such as soups, stews and roasted vegetables rather than an abundance of cold and raw foods. Warming spices can help bring warmth and movement. Bring out the candles, enjoy the fireplace, or warm yourself in the sauna.

Fire is also the energy of joy, laughter, warmth, connection and activity — wonderful medicine when the contracting nature of Metal begins to feel too heavy.

And remember to breathe. The Lungs belong to Metal. Get outside, move your body, take some deep breaths and allow space for your emotions to move as well.
The wisdom of Metal is knowing what to keep and what to release.

As the days become shorter and we naturally begin to turn inward, look for joyful ways to bring a little more Fire, warmth and light into your life.

Well… how have we survived all this Fire energy? 🔥
We’ve had such a strong Fire year, followed by some very strong Fire months, and just when you thought we might finally get a little break… think again!
The Rooster Month begins on 7 September, bringing us Yin Fire sitting on the Metal Rooster.
Yes… more Fire! 🔥
I have to admit; I’m personally a little over all this Fire energy. I’m sure some of you are feeling the same!

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed so many Fire and Metal themes showing up around me, with family, clients and in everyday life. Fire can bring intensity, emotions and inflammation, while Metal is connected with the lungs, skin and our ability to let go.

But Fire isn’t only about challenges. It’s also about love, happiness, celebration and joy. I’ve seen proposals, weddings, pregnancies, babies being born and so many beautiful reasons to celebrate. ❤️

It’s a lovely reminder that where there is Yin, there will always be Yang. Even when things feel challenging, something wonderful can be happening at the same time.

And speaking of wonderful things… let’s talk about LOVE! ❤️

The Rooster is known as a Romance Flower or Peach Blossom, and because the Horse in our annual chart is also a Romance Flower, we have a little double dose of love happening this month.

If you were born in the Year or Day of the Monkey, Rat or Dragon, the Rooster is your Romance Flower or Peach Blossom.

So, whether you’re looking for romance or simply wanting to bring more love and kindness into your life, this is a beautiful month to open your heart a little more.

Now we have another “double up” happening with our Flying Stars.

The monthly Flying Stars duplicate the yearly stars, creating a Fu Yin configuration, amplifying the energies throughout the home.

The sectors I would be paying more attention to are the South, Southwest, West and Northwest, while the Southeast, Centre and East are more supportive and prosperous.

Make the most of those prosperous areas by spending time there and try not to disturb the challenging sectors unnecessarily.

As I always say… where there is Yin, there is Yang.

Yin Fire reminds me of a candle flame. 🕯️ It may be small, but it can light up the darkest room.

This can bring things into the light — secrets being revealed, hidden situations becoming visible and people in positions of power coming under greater scrutiny.

Yin Fire can also bring themes of explosive energy, nuclear developments, volcanic activity, airline disruptions and sudden events, so September certainly doesn’t look boring!

The month begins with Yang Wood Monkey, which can represent leadership, media and people in positions of power. With Wood not particularly strengthened this month, we could see some changes or shifts involving those in authority and in the media.

So what can we do with all this Fire?

Laugh more. 😂
Find something to be grateful for.
Spend time with people you love.
Celebrate the little things.
And most importantly — be kind. ❤️

We may not be able to turn down the Fire this month, but we can choose how we work with it.

Let’s use it for warmth, love, laughter, creativity and connection.

When the Dog enters the Year of Fire Goat in 2027.

The result is a 'Destruction Code'.

If you were born in the Year of the Dog - 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 - this one's for you.

And no, this is not about doom and gloom. It’s about understanding the energy so you can navigate it, not fear it. With precision navigation, you may even benefit from it.

Let me break it down for you -

WHY does this Destruction happen?

2027 is the year of Ding Wei 丁未 - The Fire Goat.

In Chinese Metaphysics, both the Dog (Xu 戌) and the Goat (Wei 未) are Earth elements. But not fertile, open-field Earth. They are Dry Earth, Mountain Earth, Tomb Earth. Think of them as two mountains grinding against each other.

The Earth vs Earth Clash -

When Earth meets Earth, it’s stubbornness vs stubbornness. It creates blockage. Nothing moves easily.

The Warehouses Break Open - Both Xu and Wei are known as "Storehouses" - they store hidden treasures and hidden problems. When they Destroy each other, the storehouse door breaks.

Old secrets, old debts, old unresolved emotions that were stored away suddenly spill out.

It’s a Hidden Punishment: Dog, Goat, and Ox form the famous "Earth Punishment." In 2027, you don't need the Ox to feel it. The Goat alone is enough to trigger the Dog's Punishment field. This is why it feels so internal. In simple terms: It’s not an attack from outside. It’s a system failure from the inside.

What is the Consequence of a "Breaking Influence"?

The ancient texts say Destruction (破) means "broken, damaged, unusable." In our world today, I interpret this as a break in the supply chain. Expect delays, disruptions and the constant need to adapt to ever changing conditions, situations and outcomes.

It’s not just one big break-up. It’s the little cracks that disrupt the flow -

Physically - The supply chain of your health and wealth. Earth governs digestion, stomach, spleen, and our sense of stability. Expect sudden expenses, property issues, things breaking down at home, investments that get "stuck." Your body might feel more sluggish, tired and disconnected.

Emotionally - The supply chain of your relationships. The Dog is the most loyal zodiac - we are loyal to people, to companies, to ideas, even when they no longer serve us. In 2027, loyalty will be tested. Friendships, partnerships, even family ties may feel distant. Not because of a big fight, but because trust erodes. A promise is broken. A communication totally misconstrued.

Spiritually - The supply chain between you and yourself. You may question your path. "Am I still on the right track?" The connection to your own intuition feels blocked.

How should The Dog handle 2027?

You cannot stop two mountains from colliding. But you can decide not to build your house in between them.

1. Don't force. Flow on the main stream.

This is not the year to be stubborn. If a deal is blocked, a person is being difficult, a plan isn't moving - do not push harder. Earth & Earth gets you more resistance. Step back. The biggest mistake a Dog will make in 2027 is insisting "I am right."

2. Audit Your Loyalty. Ask yourself - Who and what am I being loyal to out of habit, not love? The Destruction code is here to clear out expired contracts. Let the broken connections go. It’s making space for stronger ones.

3. Strengthen Your Supply Chain pre-2027.

Physical - Get your health check, secure your finances, fix your home. Earth needs grounding - regular exercise, wholesome food.
Emotional: Have the difficult conversations in 2026. Don't carry unresolved issues into 2027.

Spiritual - Your Earth is dry. You need Water and Metal to balance it. Water is flow, rest, wisdom, letting go. Metal is clarity, structure, boundaries. Meditate, journal, learn something new.

4. Use The Break To Rebuild.

A destruction year is actually one of the best years to renovate, rebrand, change careers, or end a bad habit. You cannot build a new house without breaking the old one.

So, if you are thinking it's going to be doomed being born in Dog years - You are not being punished. Take it as a free makeover. The universe is breaking what is brittle so what is resilient can remain.
