Although it's still a couple of months to go, we're excited to tell you about this amazing 2 day workshop coming up.

Landscape Painting in Gouache with Brisbane artist Kerry Daley
Saturday, 20th and Sunday, 21st June 2026

We will be supplying the Gouache paints, you just need to bring a few brushes and paper :-)

Open to adults of all skill levels, this workshop focuses on developing confidence and skill in creating landscapes, using gouache.

You’ll learn key techniques such as layering, blending, and balancing opacity with transparency while working on skies, water, trees, and distant forms.

The workshop also covers colour harmony, composition, and strategies for simplifying complex scenes to capture light, atmosphere, and depth.

Through step-by-step demonstrations, guided exercises, and dedicated practice time, you’ll complete both studies and finished paintings under the expert instruction of Kerry Daley.

By the end of the weekend, you’ll have the skills and confidence to approach gouache landscapes with creativity and precision

all you need to bring is:
A4 300g paper (watercolour/mixed media/ cartridge)
Watercolour paint brushes (a selection, but should include medium flat and medium and small round)
Notebook or sketchbook for notetaking

Ever wanted to make something brilliant out of absolute randomness?
Perfect. That’s exactly the plan.

Step into a world of paper, play, and beautifully strange ideas with award-winning collage artist Marlies Oakley.

You won’t need to bring a thing—just your curiosity.
Each participant receives a mysterious “Goody Bag” packed with an unpredictable mix of magazines, images, (and yes, scissors). From there, it’s up to you to slice, shuffle, and reassemble the chaos into something uniquely yours.

No rules. No pressure. No “right way.”Just instinct, experimentation, and the occasional “why does this actually work?” moment.
Expect:
• Unexpected combinations
• Questionable design choices (that somehow become genius)
• A room full of people quietly cutting things up and loving it
• One-of-a-kind artworks you didn’t know you could make

And as a bonus twist—this session lands in the lead-up to World Collage Day, making it the perfect excuse to dive in, get inspired, and celebrate the art of cutting things up and sticking them back together in entirely new ways.
Whether you’re a seasoned creative or someone who “can’t draw a stick figure,” collage doesn’t care. That’s the beauty of it.

Thursday Sessions are all about trying something new, getting a little messy, and surprising yourself.
