Create a beautifully crafted nature sketchbook in this immersive workshop for adults of all abilities.
Over the two days, you’ll design and assemble a concertina sketchbook, and work on filling its pages with sketches from closely observed natural objects and curated photographic references and personal notes.
Using a range of drawing and painting materials, you’ll record birds, plants, organic forms, and landscape details into your nature sketchbook. The workshop focuses on building cohesive pages that document your nature experiences in a meaningful and artistic way.
By the end, you’ll leave with a completed sketchbook and practical strategies for continuing a nature journaling practice at home.
Ideal for those planning a “road trip” or just want to explore the natural surroundings of their own backyard
all you need to bring is:
Watercolour, paint brushes (a selection, but should include medium flat and medium and small round)
Notebook or sketchbook for notetaking

meet Kerry
Kerry Daley is a visual artist and arts educator based in Brisbane, Australia.
She holds a Fine Arts degree with majors in Drawing, Printmaking and Art History, and a Higher Diploma in Education.
Kerry maintains an active professional practice across multiple disciplines including drawing, painting and ceramics with a strong focus on technical skill, craftsmanship, and disciplined studio practice.
With extensive teaching experience, Kerry is known for her clear, structured, and supportive approach to instruction. Her teaching prioritises skill development, confident decision-making, and a deep understanding of materials.
She helps students build both technical ability and independence in their practice. Her personal work explores themes of identity, environment, and the relationship between the natural and the constructed, informing a teaching approach that is grounded, thoughtful, and practical.
