This afternoon the insulated and fortunate little pocket of the world that I live in, was given a reminder of how protected and lucky we are.

A small but intense bushfire started 500m from my home at midday today, in the wetland adjacent to Queen Elizabeth Ave. Dozens of Busselton Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service, Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA along with Western Australia Police Force and three aerial support vehicles (2 x planes + 1 x helicopter) attended and made short work of the dangers.

Smelling bushfire smoke always makes me nervous, but when ash started to fall into my backyard, I became very aware of the real threat.

I am SO grateful to the men and women who volunteer in these situations. They are AMAZING. They keep me and my entire community safe. Thank you.

After a week of cutting and glueing, I went into Crafted in Busselton and Dusty Buns to share a bit of love.

I really love making displays. It’s SO much fun. Heart Bunting is now hanging in place.

Starting THIS Wednesday, 2nd February, I will be selling my Macrame Rainbows at HYPE Busselton.

I am so excited to be able to have a local outlet for my work. Thank you to Raelene and Kelli for supporting this local artisan. It means the world ❤️

I am so sad to write that I am officially no longer at Origins Market.

I tried SO HARD to make it work. I put in 7 days a week for more than 3 months and promises made to me and others were not fulfilled. And I (and others) was subjected to some seriously poor human behaviour, making it impossible for me to make a real go of it. It hurts so much to walk away from something I truly believed in.

I am looking at alternatives for my work and my workshops. I have news this week on both fronts. 💕🌈💕

THANK YOU to everyone who supported me. Wished me well. Attended a workshop. Bought my work. I am incredibly grateful for your belief and support.

And it YOU who gave me the self belief to look to continue my business, even after this heartbreaking misstep and beginning.

After working my ring off for six months building a new business for a new enterprise, I am having to decide whether or not to go forward.

And it hurts incredibly, because the other people in the enterprise that I am around are beautiful. And ethical. And hard working. And lovely.

Unfortunately, without consultation or discussion, my business is being moved within the enterprise for a third time in 3 months. And I don’t think I have the energy to deal with the move, and all the ‘’stuff’ behind it.

I just wanted to make some beautiful pieces, sell them to people who appreciated them, and hold workshops that would encourage others to be creative and seek pleasure in their creations.

I created a Scandi inspired swathe over my stall space at Origins . . . . and now people are saying I should hold a workshop for it.

Would you pay $40 to attend a 2 hour workshop to have everything provided to make a 50cm (min) swathe using tree nuts/pods (ie H***y Nuts) and paper snowflakes?

Being creative at Christmas time is the BEST ✨✨✨.

And making the things that I see in my mind is a true guilt free pleasure. I am creating so many new things for my stall at .

Including these unbelievably adorable macrame yarn Christmas trees. With a minimum of 10m yarn in them, they are a labour of love.

I will only be making a dozen of these as they each take so long to create. If you’d like one, please get yours before it sells. Each one is unique, and once it’s gone . . . it’s gone.
