Create because you can. Not because you should. 🤍

I think creativity changes the moment it starts feeling like another thing on the to-do list.

I should post something.
I should finish that piece.
I should be more consistent.
I should make something today.

And suddenly, the thing that once gave you freedom starts asking something from you.
But you’re allowed to create without a reason.

To paint because you feel like painting.
To make something that nobody will ever see.
To leave something unfinished because another idea excited you more.

Creativity doesn’t always need discipline, productivity or a purpose.
Sometimes it just needs curiosity.
Make things because something inside you wants to see what happens. 🤍

Somewhere along the way, creating became something we had to be good at.

The painting has to look beautiful.
The idea has to work.
The finished piece has to be worth showing.

But what if it doesn’t?

What if you make something wonky?
Choose the wrong colour.
Undo the knot.
Paint over it.
Start again.

Or don’t.

Creativity was never supposed to be another place where we have to be perfect.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is let yourself be bad at something and enjoy it anyway. 🤍

Make the messy thing.
You might surprise yourself.

I love making things that quietly become part of everyday life. 🤍
Not everything handmade needs to be a statement piece.

Sometimes it’s something small. Something you see every morning while making coffee, reaching for the sugar, or standing half-awake in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil.

These little macramé coasters were made for exactly that.
A few knots. A little texture. Something simple made slowly by hand.

And somehow, those tiny handmade details can make even the most ordinary corners of home feel a little more special.

I think there’s something really beautiful about that. 🤍

Sometimes you don’t realise how much you need to create until you stop doing it. 🤍

Life gets busy.
Other things become more important.
And slowly, without really noticing, you stop making things.

But after a while, something feels… missing.

And then you pick up a brush again.
Or some cord.
Or a pencil.
It doesn’t really matter what it is.

You just make something.

And somehow, you feel a little different afterwards. A little lighter. A little more like yourself.

I think that’s what creating has always been for me.
It’s not really about what I make.
It’s about having somewhere for everything inside me to go. ✨

Proof that everything looks cuter in macramé. 🌿🤍
I’ve always loved plant hangers, but there’s something extra cute about these little pot ones.

A bit of cord, a few knots… and suddenly your plant has a whole personality.

That’s probably one of my favourite things about macramé, taking something really simple and turning it into a little detail that makes a space feel more you.

Also… finding new places to put plants without taking up any more shelf space?
I’m calling that a win. 🌿

There’s something different about creating something for someone you know.
This shirt was painted for a friend, and every little detail was chosen with him in mind.

That’s one of the things I’ve always loved most about making things by hand.

You’re not just decorating an object or filling a blank space. You’re taking pieces of someone, the things they love, their personality, their story, and turning them into something they can actually keep.

I’ve created in so many different ways over the years, but pieces like this remind me why handmade has always felt so special to me.

Because sometimes what you’re really making isn’t just art.
It’s something that belongs to someone’s story. 🤍

This one took a while.

Tiny dots, tiny lines, changing colours halfway through, staring at it for way too long wondering what it needed next… and then adding just one more detail about 500 times.

That’s usually how these pieces happen.

I rarely know exactly what they’re going to look like when I start. I just keep adding, changing and playing until eventually my brain goes…
Yep. That’s it. 🎨

And somehow, this time, all that creative chaos became a clock.

A very colourful reminder that sometimes I'm not particularly good at keeping things simple.

You don’t have to finish everything first.

You don’t have to tick every box.
Clean the house.
Answer every email.
Be productive enough.
Do something useful first.

You’re allowed to do something simply because it makes you happy.

Somewhere along the way, we learned to treat joy like a reward we get after everything else is done.

But the list is never really done, is it?

So use the nice paints.
Make the thing.
Play the music.
Take the afternoon.
Do whatever makes you feel a little more alive.

You don’t have to earn it. 🤍

Some people meditate. I make knots. 😂🤍
There’s something about working with my hands that makes everything else go a little quieter.

One knot.
Then another.
No rushing. No overthinking. Just making something slowly and watching it come together.

It might not technically count as meditation… but my brain definitely thinks it does. 😂
And at the end of it, I get a candle holder too. Win win. ✨
