The day the electrician arrives is probably not the day you want to start thinking about where your lights should go.

Good lighting isn’t just about choosing beautiful fittings. It’s about how you use the room, where the furniture sits, what needs task lighting, what you want to highlight and where you definitely don’t need another downlight.

But if you’ve never designed a home before, how are you supposed to know what needs resolving or when?

You don’t know what you don’t know… until there’s an electrician standing there waiting for an answer. 👀

This is exactly the kind of design knowledge we’re putting into our new design intelligence platform… helping homeowners and emerging designers understand what to think about, what to ask and what to resolve before it becomes urgent.

Launching soon.

When it comes to pairing Moët & Chandon with party pies, there is no one quite like .

You might know her as the face behind . We know her as a straight-talking recipe maven with gloriously achievable standards in the kitchen, zero fuss and absolutely no interest in making dinner harder than it needs to be.

We caught up with Lucy in the latest issue of our Little Black Book to talk food, entertaining and her very particular kind of everyday magic.

Come shopping with us at

We went in looking for baths for a current project and, as usual, found about twelve other things we suddenly needed to talk about.

Colourful basins. Pink and green bath combinations we didn’t know we were missing. Japanese-style soaker tubs for smaller bathrooms. And composite baths that give you that beautiful solid, sculptural look without the weight... which can make a very real difference to installation and your trade budget.

This is the kind of bathroom sourcing we love: pieces that look beautiful, but also solve something.
And yes… we found the baths for our project.

Save this one for your bathroom renovation or new build sourcing list.

Things we’ve actually bought, actually lived with, and would choose all over again. Because there’s a big difference between something looking good in a showroom and still loving it once it’s part of your everyday home.

This carousel is a round-up of some of the furniture, lighting, finishes and homewares from our own homes that have properly earned their place...the pieces we’d recommend without hesitation.

No sponsored list. No “must-haves”. Just good design, good quality and things that have worked for us in real life.

Save this one for your next renovation, interiors project or home sourcing day and tell us which one you’d choose.

This is our Design Intelligence Method in action.

A strong design direction at the very beginning does so much more than decide how your home will look — it gives you a framework for every decision that follows.

At Walker Farm, we started with a clear direction: natural materials, texture, warmth and finishes that would only get better with age.

This Bali stone tile became one of the hero materials, used around the exterior pool and then carried through to completely clad the master ensuite. The result is this incredible, almost patinated concrete feel that wraps the entire room.

Layered with timber vanities from alongside concrete basins and handmade tapware by , every choice comes back to that original design language.

And with natural light flooding the space, those darker, textural finishes absolutely sing.

Proof that when you get the direction right at the beginning, the hundreds of decisions that follow become a whole lot easier.

One of our favourites, for sure. 🤎

Funny how things come full circle. Back in our Design Hunter store days, we stocked the shelves with beautiful pieces handmade by Naomi from . Fast forward a few years and she’s now creating the most incredible lighting... the kind of pieces you spot in beautiful interiors and immediately want to know where they’re from.

And yes, we’re still fans. Cat has just added two of Naomi’s gorgeous sconces to the master bedroom at Banksia House, and Mel is currently eyeing off a few for Birdsong House… so some things clearly don’t change.

We caught up with Naomi for the latest issue of our Little Black Book to talk design, making and the evolution of Studio Enti.

It’s all inside our 130+ page sourcing guide, along with plenty more of the makers, brands and places we genuinely love.

Rosso Verde in Camperdown is such a divine example of quality over quantity. Rather than adding more, the design removes almost a third of the roof to create a central landscaped courtyard, bringing light, air and greenery deep into the home. Connection to nature is one of our favourite design features.

And those custom steel windows in brick red against the existing masonry? Perfection.

Better design isn’t always about more space, it’s about making the space you have work harder, feel better and connect more beautifully.

Designing here. Designing there. Designing from the boot of a car because apparently that’s a perfectly acceptable place for a materials meeting. 😂

It might not always look glamorous, but this is the real work behind creating a home making decisions wherever and whenever they need to be made.

Everyone is building courses right now… we’re not.

Renovating, building or designing your home doesn’t happen neatly in 8 modules, completed in order, with a little certificate at the end. Real projects are messier than that.

You get stuck on a floor plan on Tuesday. A builder needs an answer by Friday. You’re choosing lighting while still questioning the kitchen. Then suddenly someone asks for a decision you didn’t even know was coming.

That’s why we created INSIDER.

Not a course to work through and forget about but ongoing access to the Design Intelligence Method behind 400+ real projects, with the plans, tools, resources and live guidance to help you make better decisions as your project unfolds.

Not just the answer. The thinking behind the answer.

And when your question is specific to your home? Bring it to a live session and ask Mel.

INSIDER is coming soon. Launching September 14th.
