The Designory is a multi-faceted design business and education platform with a focus on interiors, architecture, and the built environment. With over 15 years in the industry, we bring deep expertise and a unique perspective on design, education, and building. Co-led by Founder Melissa Bonney and Director Cat Gerke, The Designory blends over 35 years of combined experience in design and marketing.

Our evolution from a boutique studio to a multi-channel brand has been driven by a mission to share knowledge, create impact, and build authentic brand value. The business spans three core divisions:

Stop! Do this before you start sourcing tiles 👇

Before you fall in love with something beautiful on the showroom floor, take a step back and consider the whole home.

Every finish in your house needs to read together. They don’t need to be exactly the same, but they do need to flow — like chapters in a book. Your tiles, paint colour, flooring, window trims, cabinetry, hardware and benchtops should all feel like they belong to the same story.

When we’re working on projects, we box up all our samples and keep them in the car so if we come across something we love, we can check it against the overall scheme straight away.

Tiles are one of the fun selections, and they’re often where people want to make a statement. We’re not saying don’t go bold — just make sure it’s a decision made in context of the whole home, not just because it looks good in isolation.
