Homemade Polish-style Lard 🐷

Rich, fragrant and traditional — delicious spread on a thick slice of fresh bread, or used as a topping for many traditional dishes 🥟

Pork fat, bacon, a little meat, salt and pepper. Nothing complicated. Just a very Polish flavour that many of us have known for years.

And sometimes, instead of a slice of cake, 🙃
all we really need is a thick slice of homemade bread, lard and a Polish-style pickled cucumber. 😁 😉

This time, everything is homemade — including the rustico bread.

Kvæfjordkake – Norwegian cake

Often called “the world’s best cake.” Is it really? We won’t decide that for you… the best way is to try it yourself. 😉

But one thing is certain — it really is something special.

Two layers of delicate cake, crisp meringue with flaked almonds, and between them, silky vanilla custard and light whipped cream.

Soft, crunchy and creamy — all in one delicious slice.

I think it’s time to say: THANK YOU 🥰

The last few weeks have been… let’s just say, pretty busy.

Orders keep coming, followed by more orders, and some customers are already coming back for another one. And honestly, that’s what makes me happiest.

I only have two hands – and so far I haven’t figured out how to grow a few more. 😂

But I’m genuinely happy that there are more and more of you, and that you keep coming back for another order.

You are, however, making one thing a little more challenging… finding time for all the new ideas I have in my head. 😉
But don’t worry – I’ll find the time. Somehow. 😂

So this cake had to be just that — full of flowers and with wishes for many magical days in the years ahead.

A light and fluffy sponge, creamy and chocolate flavours, a touch of fruit and a refreshing soak — all coming together in one birthday cake made for the occasion.

Thank you to Basilea Living Herbs for the beautiful organic flower set that became part of the cake’s decoration. 🌺🌿🌸
